According to the Athletic , MLS organizers confirmed that there were no changes to the policy regarding the security of participating teams. Many clubs also arranged security forces around the touchline similar to Inter Miami.

Inter Miami's board of directors has decided not to allow Messi's bodyguards to stand on the sidelines in the near future.

Messi was not pleased with the news. The source said: "Messi and Cheuko are both very disappointed. [Cheuko] has always criticized other security guards at MLS. Cheuko thinks that if they do their job well, he won't need to be there."

In an interview on March 31, Cheuko shared that during his 20 months working in MLS, he witnessed 16 incidents involving fans rushing onto the field. According to Cheuko, this reflects serious security issues at MLS stadiums.

Previously, Cheuko had worked for 7 years in Ligue 1 and the Champions League and only encountered 6 cases of fan intrusion.

Last season, many overzealous fans ran onto the pitch to see Messi. Cheuko was forced to stand on the sidelines to intervene in time to prevent any possible risks to M10. This season, things seem to have improved.

Messi and Cheuko have a close relationship. Cheuko's recognition also increased rapidly when working for M10. One fan commented: "I don't remember all the names of the Inter Miami players, but I definitely know Cheuko."

Cheuko admitted his close relationship with Messi last year: "Messi not only sees me as a bodyguard but also as a friend. We chat, laugh and get to know each other's personalities. He always invites me to lunch and treats me well."
