Argentina is dominating every tournament they participate in as they have just won the Copa America 2021 and recently the World Cup 2022. With a cohesive squad, the South American giant is confident in defeating all opponents.
Hosting Panama in a friendly match, the Tango team will certainly win, the only thing fans care about is the goal difference.
With a strong squad called up by coach Scaloni, Argentina did not have much difficulty dominating the game. Up front, Messi was still the focal point attracting the ball from teammates as well as... the opposing defenders.
In the 15th minute, two Panama players tackled Messi, causing him to fall right in front of the penalty area. The result was a somewhat rough tackle that caused Messi's right knee to bleed. Argentina was awarded a free kick. Unfortunately, Messi's free kick was very beautiful, but the ball hit the post.
Thanks to good defense, Panama avoided many shots or attacks from Di Maria, MacAlister, Enzo and Messi in the first half.
In the beginning of the second half, in the 50th minute, Messi almost created a masterpiece when he decided to finish from a corner kick on the right wing. Goalkeeper Guerra had to work hard to save the goal.
Just 2 minutes later, the Panama goalkeeper had to show his talent again with a free kick right in front of Messi's penalty area.
The turning point of the match came in the 78th minute. Messi took a free kick and the ball hit the post. Paredes rushed in to shoot but missed. Fortunately, Almada responded in time to score, thereby breaking the deadlock for the home team.
Finally, after many failed shots, Messi finally scored a goal of his own. In the 89th minute, Messi continued to take a free kick and he defeated the opposing goalkeeper with a perfect curve.
The score 2-0 was also the final result of this friendly match.
