Principal dismissed for 12th grade student 'voluntarily quit school'

The principal, who was disciplined many times and once allowed 12th grade students to 'voluntarily drop out of school', was dismissed from this position by the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province and assigned to work as a teacher.

On October 7, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, Le Thi Thanh Xuan, signed a decision to dismiss Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Hue, Principal of Cao Ba Quat High School, who had let 12th grade students "voluntarily drop out of school", causing a stir in public opinion.

According to the decision, Ms. Hue was dismissed due to disciplinary action in the form of a warning.

The Department requested Ms. Hue to hand over all management work to the vice principal in charge of the school. The Department transferred Ms. Hue to work as a teacher at this school.

Previously, Ms. Hue served as Principal of Chu Van An High School (Thanh Nhat Ward, Dak Lak Province) and was disciplined for violations in professional management, financial collection and disbursement, and cutting the curriculum.

After being transferred to Cao Ba Quat High School, she continued to be reported for re-committing similar violations.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Cao Ba Quat School caused a stir when more than a dozen 12th grade students "voluntarily" submitted applications to leave school and reserve their results just a few weeks before the high school graduation exam.

Some parents reported that their children were advised by the principal to quit school because "they wouldn't pass the exam."

After the press reported, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training inspected and confirmed that instructing students to make a reservation application was not in accordance with regulations, because Circular 32/2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training does not allow high school students to reserve their study results.

Some students were later given the opportunity to retake the course and passed the graduation exam.

For a long time, the disciplinary action against Ms. Hue was considered to be delayed. Some Department leaders were criticized and reminded for not promptly implementing the conclusions of the authorities.
