After merging the old Mo Vang and An Luong communes into the new Mo Vang commune - a larger, more populous administrative unit with more expectations. "Not only is it a change in administrative boundaries, the merger is also an opportunity for us to gather strength, restructure the apparatus and aim for bigger, longer-term goals", Mr. Tran Tuan Anh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Mo Vang commune shared.
One of those goals is to effectively implement the Northern Mountainous Provinces Traffic Connection Project - a route with a total length of nearly 23km, passing through rugged terrain, divided by streams, including Ngoi Thia.
Faced with a strategically important traffic project, the Party Committee and the government of Mo Vang commune understand that if the site clearance work is not done well, all plans can be delayed indefinitely. Therefore, the commune has established a Site Clearance Support Team - not only bringing documents and papers but also bringing dedication, understanding and perseverance to each household.

Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Tran Tuan Anh pointed to the hills being leveled by excavators and said: "The project directly affects 576 households and organizations, including 566 households and individuals. This is a large number, requiring not only determination, but also a flexible and agile communication and advocacy strategy."
Each officer in the Land Acquisition Support Team is like a “bridge”, staying close to the area, meeting with the people, patiently listening, and explaining each problem. They not only bring with them the regulations and compensation price list, but also bring with them stories about the future development, about the change of their homeland from a road.
Mr. Dang Nho Hien in Khe Dam village shared: “At first, my family was also worried. The land was confiscated, the garden was gone, we didn’t know what life would be like, but the commune officials came down and explained clearly and transparently. Seeing that the project was for the community and we were compensated appropriately, we agreed.”

Up to now, Mo Vang has recovered land from 524/566 households and all 10 organizations. An impressive number, but behind that are hundreds of meetings, thousands of campaigns and dialogues. The remaining 43 households and communes are continuing to coordinate with functional agencies to resolve the issue, with the motto of no imposition, no coercion, but dialogue, companionship and understanding.
Mr. Trieu Tien Minh - Secretary of Khe Dam village Party cell said: "We identify this as the responsibility of the entire political system. Each party member must be a role model, each mass organization is a mobilization force. Land acquisition is not only the work of the government but also the work of the people, for the common benefit of the whole community".
Walking along the road being opened through the commune, where each rice field, each tea hill, each cinnamon hill is giving way to construction machinery, we saw images of old people sitting on their porches watching the trucks carrying materials pass by, children playing on the dirt road that had been flattened and prepared for asphalt. The atmosphere was bustling and busy but not disturbed because the people were in favor.

Mr. Ly Van Lieu, an elderly person in Thac Tien village, said: “In the past, it took all day to go to Nghia Lo, the road was bumpy, slippery in the rain, dusty in the sun. Now that there is a new road, it is convenient for children to go to school, work or go to the doctor. We are happy and agree to hand over the land.”
Land acquisition and clearance from difficulties and concerns has become a story of trust and companionship in Mo Vang. From the village to the commune, every step is transparent and public, every policy is clearly explained, every decision listens to people's opinions.
“We thoroughly follow the motto “People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people benefit”. Each measurement map and each compensation list are publicly posted. When there are comments, the support team will go down to the people’s house to have a dialogue, not letting complaints drag on” - Vice Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee Tran Tuan Anh affirmed.
That is also the reason why, although the route passes through difficult and complex terrain, divided by streams and hillsides; although the volume of land acquisition is large, involving many households, the implementation at Mo Vang still maintains a stable and sustainable pace. The traffic connection project is not only kilometers of asphalt road but also a bridge connecting Mo Vang with the open world . It is an opportunity for local agricultural products to reach the market, for tourists to come to the culture of Muong Lo - Mo Vang, for children in the commune to easily access modern knowledge and services.
“With the road, the future of the commune will be different. Not only is it a convenient means of transportation, but it also promotes economic and social development... The people of Mo Vang are gradually shaking off poverty to rise up” - Secretary of the Mo Vang Commune Youth Union Hoang Van An shared confidently.
After the merger, the Gold Mine has entered a new page - where the government is for the people, the people trust the government and everyone shares the same goal: development. Not noisy, not hasty, but persistent and determined. The road being opened not only connects villages but also connects dreams and aspirations for a prosperous, modern, civilized and hopeful countryside.
