According to an announcement from FAT, FAT President Madam Pang sent Mr. Adisak Benjasiriwan – Vice President in charge of futsal and beach soccer – to Vietnam to directly apologize to VFF and the Vietnamese people, after the incident related to the national symbol in the draw ceremony for the 2025 Southeast Asian futsal tournament.

Accompanying the FAT Vice President were the FAT International Department Head and two secretaries of Madam Pang. At the meeting taking place at 2 p.m. on October 29, Mr. Adisak Benjasiriwan will represent FAT to send a sincere apology to VFF and the Vietnamese people.

The FAT representative affirmed that FAT "always respects all member countries as well as their national symbols", and expressed deep regret for the recent mistake.

Immediately after the incident was recorded, FAT established an independent investigation committee to clarify the cause and determine the responsibility of the individuals and units involved. According to information from FAT, the error originated from the organization of the draw ceremony, not from the policy or intention of FAT. FAT will handle the responsibility of those involved.

FAT sincerely hopes that VFF and the Vietnamese people will forgive this unintentional mistake – a human error, with absolutely no intention of insulting or belittling Vietnam.
