Passed the public 10th grade exam with less than 1 point per subject

(Dan Tri) - Dak Lak Department of Education and Training has just announced the admission scores for grade 10 of public high schools, in which many schools only require 2.5 to 4 points to get a place in the school.

On July 1, information from the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training announced the admission scores for the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year.

In the list of 50 public high schools in Dak Lak province (not including 3 specialized schools), many schools have admission scores that surprise many people because of their unbelievably low scores.

Accordingly, the school with the lowest admission score is Hai Ba Trung High School with 2.5 points; Krong Bong High School with 2.75 points; Cao Ba Quat High School and Phan Dang Luu High School both have a benchmark score of 3.75 points; Krong Ana High School has an admission score of 4 points...

In addition, there are dozens of other public high schools in the province with admission scores below 10 points. The whole province has only 8 public high schools with admission scores above 10 points, of which the highest is Le Quy Don High School with 19.5 points; Chu Van An High School with 15.25 points.

Thus, for the 3 subjects (math, literature and foreign language), students only need to score less than 1 point in each subject to pass the 10th grade of public high school.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Xuan, Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that the low test scores were in the junior high school block under the management of the districts, now under the communes, so the Department cannot be proactive in many aspects.

According to Ms. Xuan, the Department organizes the entrance exam for grade 10 of public high schools. The exam questions are not difficult, but the exam is to evaluate the teaching quality of secondary schools, to look frankly and find solutions to improve the long-term teaching quality of the province.

The Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training informed that the failing score for the 10th grade entrance exam in the 2024-2025 school year is 1 point and this year it is 0 points.

"We follow the principle of ensuring the children's right to go to school and cannot deny them the right to go to school, so that all children have the opportunity to study. According to the education system, this year about 80% of students will attend high school and 20% will study at vocational schools," Ms. Xuan informed.

Regarding some schools with very low benchmark scores of only 2-3 points, Ms. Xuan said that these schools have a large number of students from ethnic minority villages and hamlets. Therefore, the quality of education in these schools will be focused on.

In the 2025-2026 school year 10th grade entrance exam, Dak Lak province has 53 public schools enrolling about 20,700 students. The whole province has more than 22,000 candidates registered for the exam.
