(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Recently, the police force has discovered many cases related to drug storage, transportation, and use. Through a number of drug-use organization cases recently discovered, there are cases involving up to dozens of people, involving officials, party members and relatives, causing bad public opinion.

These cases show that initial measures to prevent drugs from entering residential areas have not met requirements.

According to the Ministry of Public Security , the current situation of crime and drug abuse is still very complicated, especially the early and remote prevention of drug supply and demand; the number of addicts, illegal drug users and people under post-rehabilitation management is still high. The Ministry of Public Security emphasized that the cause of this situation is partly due to the lack of synchronous and comprehensive coordination between ministries, branches and localities, and the lack of decisive participation. In particular, the work of grasping the situation and controlling the area has not met the requirements.

In order to effectively organize and implement the goals and tasks of drug prevention and control under the direction of the Politburo , the National Assembly and the Government, General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security, has just sent a document to ministers, heads of ministries, branches, central agencies; secretaries of provincial and municipal Party Committees and chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities to coordinate and direct the strengthening of drug prevention and control in the new situation.

Accordingly, it is recommended that units and localities specify the goals and tasks on drug prevention and control by 2030 in the resolutions of the party congresses of agencies and units for the 2025-2030 term. In particular, urgently issue a plan to build "drug-free communes, wards and special zones" for the period 2025-2030 with comprehensive solutions suitable to the characteristics of the local situation, with specific goals, roadmaps and solutions for each group, village, hamlet, etc. towards drug-free communes, wards and special zones, associated with the responsibility of the head - the secretary and chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level to achieve the goal of building at least 20% of commune-level administrative units free of drugs in 2025 and 50% in 2030. The Minister requested to launch the movement "All people participate in drug prevention and control" with the message "Each citizen is a soldier, each family is a fortress".

The document also requires that heads of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, agencies and organizations at all levels have the responsibility to directly lead, direct, inspect and evaluate drug prevention, control and combat work and must consider strict disciplinary action if the drug situation becomes complicated in the agencies, units, localities, fields and areas assigned to them for management.

Currently, wards, communes and agencies in the province are holding party congresses for the 2025-2030 term. Along with drafting congress documents, discussing and proposing solutions for economic development and performing professional tasks, it is necessary to pay due attention to ensuring security and order, including the fight against drugs with specific goals and practical solutions. This will create a stable environment to effectively implement the socio-economic development goals set out in the congress resolution.
