COMPETITORS ARE GETTING STRONGER
Indonesian football continues to promote the strategy of naturalizing players by actively searching, connecting and recruiting many talents of Indonesian origin around the world . The current Indonesian team has the physical qualities and quality of mid-level European teams. They have excellently held Saudi Arabia and Australia to a draw in the first important matches of the third qualifying round of the World Cup and are likely to become the first Southeast Asian country to qualify for the most prestigious tournament on the planet.
Que Ngoc Hai (3) and the Vietnamese team will have to show more convincing play when meeting the Indian and Lebanese teams.
Thailand has a scientific and sustainable football development strategy. After a period of instability in finding a head coach, the Football Association of Thailand is now completely satisfied with Japanese coach Masatada Ishii. With many years of experience working in the J-League and Thai League, Mr. Ishii adapted quickly, in line with the slow but steady development strategy of the country with the leading football in the region. In the Thai team, there is a fusion of generations: there are still experienced veterans such as Dangda, Chanathip, Theerathon, the next generation Sarach, Tanaboon, Supachok and young factors Suphanat, Supachai, Ekanit... Along with that are quality Thai players such as Patrick Gustavsson, Nicholas Mickelson, Khemdee, Elias Dolah... Drawing with Korea, China, winning against Singapore, Vietnam are clear evidence of their stability.
MUST CHANGE
Since taking the hot seat of the Vietnamese team, coach Kim Sang-sik has only had 1 win against the Philippines, and 3 losses against Iraq, Russia and Thailand. The audience has not put too much pressure on the coaching staff, but the disappointment could reach its peak if the Vietnamese team continues to show "obscure" playing style and negative results in the friendly matches during the FIFA Days in October. India and Lebanon are opponents that are on par with the Vietnamese team at the moment. When playing at Thien Truong Stadium, we must think of convincing victories and show a different side.
Coach Kim Sang-sik and his colleagues
The Vietnamese team needs new elements and really clear experiments. In the September training session, coach Kim prioritized calling back veterans, but in the process of using personnel, he was not consistent in choosing people. Van Truong was not a suitable piece in the midfield area, Hai Long was still inexperienced in the wing attack position, Thanh Binh was losing form but was used too much and continuously in the main squad. Meanwhile, Tien Linh, Tuan Hai, Hoang Duc with their current quite stable abilities and form, played one game, and another game did not. One game was trusted to start, the other game was only on the field for a few minutes. That unintentionally caused the team to not form a stable framework. In all 4 past matches, the Vietnamese team played with a 3-4-3 formation, but the defense - counterattack was still not as sharp as under coach Park Hang-seo. To demonstrate positive signals in terms of playing style and effectiveness in terms of scores, the Vietnamese team needs to make changes.
Hopefully, when the V-League is going through fierce and exciting rounds, the players will start to get into the groove, the coaching staff will have more accurate and suitable choices in terms of personnel; so that in the training session in October, we will have more confidence to wait for a transformation of the Vietnamese team.
U.20 Vietnam aims to win 3rd consecutive match
At 7:00 p.m. today (September 27), the U.20 Vietnam team will face U.20 Bangladesh in the 4th match of Group A - the 2025 U.20 Asian qualifiers. Previously, coach Hua Hien Vinh and his team won 6 points when they defeated U.20 Bhutan 5-0 and U.20 Guam 3-0. U.20 Vietnam temporarily leads Group A (6 points, goal difference +8), while U.20 Syria ranks second (6 points, goal difference +5). Meeting U.20 Bangladesh is a good opportunity for Vietnam to have its 3rd consecutive victory in the qualifiers and accumulate more goal difference, before playing the decisive match in the last match of Group A with U.20 Syria, the direct competitor for the ticket to the final round (September 29).
