Mongolia reserved the highest honors to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam

The solemn welcoming ceremony for General Secretary andPresident To Lam took place at Sukhbaatar Square, which is considered the heart and the meeting place of all the streets of the capital Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia.

At exactly 2:00 p.m. on September 30 (Mongolian time, or 1:00 p.m. on the same day Vietnam time), a special motorcycle convoy escorted the car carrying General Secretary and President To Lam into Sukhbaatar Square in front of the State Palace, located in the center of the capital Ulaanbaatar. Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and many high-ranking Mongolian officials were present beforehand, waiting to welcome the Vietnamese leader with the highest ceremony reserved for heads of state. When the car door opened, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam from the parking lot. Mongolian children in traditional costumes approached, respectfully presenting the Vietnamese leader with a bouquet of fresh flowers from the steppe. General Secretary and President To Lam and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh then walked together on the red carpet, towards the podium to the sound of welcoming music. Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh then invited General Secretary and President To Lam to step up to the podium. The military band played the Vietnamese and Mongolian national anthems. After the national anthems ended, the Mongolian President invited the General Secretary and President to inspect the honor guard. According to the description of VNA, the welcoming ceremony was even more solemn because in addition to the participation of Vietnamese and Mongolian officials, there were also ambassadors and heads of foreign representative agencies in Mongolia . The two leaders then returned to the podium, witnessed the welcoming parade of the Mongolian honor guard before introducing officials from the two countries attending the welcoming ceremony. Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh privately received General Secretary and President To Lam in the honor tent, according to traditional Mongolian rituals. After the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh held talks before witnessing the signing of cooperation documents.

General Secretary and President To Lam visited Mongolia from September 30 to October 1 at the invitation of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. This is the first state visit to Mongolia by General Secretary and President To Lam in his new position. The visit is of special significance as it takes place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the relationship is at its best stage of development. Mongolia is a country that strongly and extensively supported Vietnam both materially and spiritually in the movement for national independence and liberation.
