A referee fainted during a pre-season fitness test and had to be rushed to the emergency room.

TPO - On the morning of August 3, VFF and VPF conducted physical examinations of referees and assistant referees participating in the pre-season training program according to FIFA regulations. One referee had health problems and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Physical fitness testing is mandatory under FIFA regulations, and referee training courses are also planned to be held after the end of the 2024/25 season. VPF said that medical work is well prepared with 4 ambulances on standby and 4 medical teams.

According to the announced results, out of a total of 62 referees and assistant referees who participated in the physical fitness test, 55 passed the tests, reaching a rate of 88.7%. Completing the physical fitness test is a prerequisite for referees to be considered for assignment.

During the inspection, a referee showed abnormal health symptoms. The medical department performed emergency treatment and performed active resuscitation measures before transferring him to a hospital in Hanoi for further care and monitoring.

Speaking to Tien Phong, a VFF official said that the medical and professional departments of the Organizing Committee are continuing to be present at the hospital to closely monitor developments and coordinate with medical facilities in treatment.
