Through many meaningful and practical activities, the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district has promoted the strength of the great national unity bloc, calling for and mobilizing the cooperation and contribution of organizations, individuals, businesses and people to help and care for the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable groups, contributing to the good implementation of social security work in the locality.
The house of Nguyen Thi Thuat and her children in Luong Cau village, Son Loi commune, was built a long time ago and has seriously deteriorated. Her family is poor and cannot afford to repair it. The rainy and stormy season has come, making her and her children very worried. In that situation, the Son Loi commune Fatherland Front Committee has allocated 40 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund to support the family to build a new house.
Along with that, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee and the Village Front Working Committee mobilized relatives and neighbors to help Ms. Thuat's family with more funds and working days so that she could complete the house.

Ms. Thuat emotionally shared: “I am very happy to have a spacious house like today, because this has been a long-standing dream of my son and I. Currently, my health is more stable, my son is studying well; my son and I are always grateful for the care and support of all levels, sectors, local authorities and villagers.”
To build the Fund "For the Poor", the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Loi commune coordinated with the government, socio -political organizations to promote propaganda, mobilize cadres, party members and people, philanthropists, and children living far from home to support resources to effectively implement social security programs, helping the poor to escape poverty sustainably.
The Commune Fatherland Front Committee always publicizes and makes transparent the sources of support, focusing on praising good people and good deeds; philanthropists actively participate in supporting the fund, thereby creating a spread for everyone, every household to promote the spirit of "mutual love", "the rich help the poor", and care for and support the poor.
Every year, the “For the Poor” Fund of Son Loi Commune mobilizes more than 80 million VND. Based on the mobilized funds, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee reviews and surveys the actual circumstances of poor households to plan support, ensuring timely and appropriate support to the right subjects.
The fund is often used to support cases of sudden difficulties, serious illnesses; support the construction of solidarity houses; visit and give gifts to poor, near-poor, and extremely disadvantaged households on holidays, Tet, and National Solidarity Day... In the period of 2019-2024, the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Loi commune coordinated with units to support the construction of 5 solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households with a total amount of nearly 300 million VND.
The work of mobilizing people to unite and help each other develop the economy and reduce poverty sustainably has been highly valued by the Commune Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations, and has been actively implemented in many forms; member organizations have stood up to guarantee loans with the Social Policy Bank for hundreds of members and union members to develop production and business. Currently, the total outstanding debt has reached more than 36 billion VND.
The Commune Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations coordinated to organize more than 30 training courses to transfer science and technology to people to develop agricultural production.
The meaningful and practical work of the Son Loi Commune Fatherland Front Committee has contributed to reducing the poverty rate and improving the lives of local people. Up to now, the average income per capita of Son Loi Commune has reached 62.6 million VND/year; in 2024, the poverty rate will decrease to 0.34% (10 households), down 1.1% compared to the beginning of the term. The rate of cultural families will reach 92.4%; 24 households will be recognized as typical cultural families.
Promoting the achieved results, the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Loi commune continues to promote the work of caring for the lives of the poor, effectively implementing social security programs to create a widespread influence and promote the spirit of "mutual love" in the community, thereby gradually improving the lives of the poor, contributing to the successful implementation of local political, economic and social tasks.
