Mbeumo is MU's priority this summer. |
According to Sky Sports , Manchester United sent a third offer worth £65 million plus £5 million in add-ons to Brentford. The two previous offers of £55 million and £62.5 million were rejected. It is not ruled out that this is the final offer the "Red Devils" send to the "Beets" about Mbeumo's case.
Mbeumo, who wants to move to Old Trafford despite interest from Tottenham, has emerged as a key target for manager Ruben Amorim after United completed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. The Cameroonian has returned to training with Brentford but his future remains under the spotlight as United speed up negotiations to bring him to the United States for their pre-season tour.
Mbeumo impressed last season, finishing second only to Mohamed Salah in points for the team thanks to goals and assists. The 1999-born player is expected to play a key role on the right flank. In this position, he will have to compete directly with Amad Diallo, who had explosive moments under Amorim.
Brentford are still weighing up their latest offer, while United hope the deal will not affect Newcastle's transfer plans, who are also targeting Yoane Wissa if Mbeumo leaves. Mbeumo's insistence that he only wants to go to Old Trafford could be key to getting the deal done in the coming days.
