Storms cause damage to property and agricultural production

Due to the impact of storm No. 3, on September 7, Thanh Hoa province experienced moderate to heavy rain along with whirlwinds, causing damage to people's homes and agricultural production.

Forces mobilized the family whose roof was blown off by a tornado in Pu Nhi commune (Muong Lat)

According to a quick report from the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, by 2:00 p.m. on September 7, the rain and storm had injured one person due to a falling tree while participating in traffic. His health is now stable (Le Viet Anh, born in 2004, hometown Xuan Lam commune, Tho Xuan district). The storm damaged 74 houses in mountainous districts. In Ba Thuoc district, 2 houses in Dien Quang commune had their roofs completely blown off and partially blown off (1 house had its roof completely blown off and had to be evacuated to a safe place with 4 people). Cam Thuy district had 1 house in Cam Thanh commune had its roof completely blown off and had to be evacuated to a safe place with 2 people. Muong Lat district had 64 houses damaged (1 house had its roof completely blown off; 59 houses had their roofs partially blown off, 2 houses had their house foundations collapsed), 1 house had its roof completely blown off and had to be evacuated to a safe place with 6 people. Quan Hoa district 7 houses had part of their roofs blown off.

Regarding damage in agricultural production, Muong Lat district had 0.11 hectares of crops partially damaged (cassava). Ba Thuoc district had 34.07 hectares of rice damaged.

The storm also caused 31 trees in Thanh Hoa city to fall; 1 electric pole to fall, 1 motorbike to be damaged and 4 battery chargers to be damaged in Hai Ha commune, Nghi Son town.

Song Chu Company Limited operates Dong Nham Pumping Station to drain water.

To limit the damage caused by floods, the Irrigation Works Exploitation Companies have implemented plans to ensure the safety of the works assigned to them and proactively pumped water to drain the water to protect agricultural production in areas where floods occur. Currently, there are 7 pumping stations in operation (Song Chu Company Limited 1 station, Bac Song Ma Irrigation Company Limited 5 stations and Ha Trung district 1 pumping station).

Households of Tam Chung commune (Muong Lat) were evacuated by forces to the Cultural House.

To proactively respond to storm No. 3, the districts have organized the evacuation of people living in areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, and low-lying areas to safe places with 296 households/1,134 people (Nhu Xuan 21 households/61 people; Quan Hoa 142 households/533 people; Thuong Xuan 123 households/500 people; Muong Lat 10 households/40 people).

Forces actively support people to evacuate to safety.

Currently, local Party committees and authorities have organized inspection teams, directed the overcoming of natural disaster consequences, and mobilized forces to help families whose houses were damaged to clean up and stabilize people's lives soon.
