Heavy rain causes localized flooding in Lang Son city

- At around 5:00 p.m. on June 2, heavy rain caused localized flooding on many roads in Lang Son city.

Flooding occurred on My Son Street, Vinh Trai Ward.

Specifically, according to preliminary statistics of the Urban Water Supply and Drainage Branch, Lang Son Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company, during this heavy rain, the city had 6 localized flooding points with severe levels such as: My Son underpass area (Vinh Trai ward); Phai Tran intersection (Hoang Dong commune)... In addition, according to the reporter's records, widespread localized flooding also occurred on some roads such as Ngo Quyen, My Son, Ba Trieu, Tam Thanh.

Many vehicles also had to "turn around" due to flooding on Ba Trieu Street.

The above situation has affected traffic on some routes, making it difficult for vehicles to move. As of 6:30 p.m. the same day, many routes were still blocked by flooding.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong, Director of the Urban Water Supply and Drainage Branch, to promptly handle the flooding situation at the above-mentioned locations and routes, the unit has currently mobilized maximum human resources to clear the underpass locations, clean up garbage and stagnant mud in the drainage system on the routes.

According to forecasts from professional agencies, from the night of June 2 to June 3, heavy rains may continue to occur in the area with rainfall ranging from 30 - 40mm, up to 150mm in some places. Therefore, authorities recommend that people proactively take measures to ensure safety.
