With a proactive spirit, Yen Lac High School has implemented flexible and scientific review work for final year students. Teacher Tran Manh Cuong, Vice Principal of the school said: “2025 is the first year that the high school graduation exam will be implemented according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program with many changes in content, testing methods, question types... Along with that, the review time for students is limited by Circular No. 29 regulating extra teaching and learning of the Ministry of Education and Training (only 2 periods/subject/week)...
Fully aware of the importance and innovations of the exam, teachers and students of the school have made constant efforts, closely following the proposed review plan; at the same time, being flexible in organizing teaching and learning to consolidate core knowledge for students. After the closing ceremony of the school year, from May 27 to June 24, the school organized free review sessions for all 13 grades 12 with 521 students; review time was 8 periods/week divided into 4 graduation exam subjects. Teachers combined the use of online review software, assigned homework tasks, guided self-study skills and evaluated students' products every week.
In addition, the school requests parents to increase cooperation, closely monitor their children's learning process, and strictly manage their study time at home. The management of school order and discipline is also tightened. With the high determination and consensus of teachers, students and parents, Yen Lac High School strives to maintain its achievements in the top of the province.
In the urgent atmosphere of the exam review season, Vinh Yen High School has implemented a plan to support students in a focused, synchronous review, closely following the instructions of the Department of Education and Training, suitable for each student group. The school organizes free guidance for 12th grade students to review for the graduation exam, each subject is arranged 2 periods/week. Review classes are organized according to the voluntary registration list of students, ensuring that they are suitable for their abilities and wishes. Average students are tutored individually by teachers to consolidate their basic knowledge, good and excellent students are tutored by teachers to improve their knowledge in groups.
In addition to the lessons in the program, teachers are willing to spend extra time tutoring and advising each student both in person and online. The school's Board of Directors also regularly checks and monitors the review progress, adjusting teaching content to suit the reality. The school supports students and parents who need to study at licensed training centers to increase opportunities for formal and legal learning.
Along with reviewing knowledge, Vinh Yen High School continues to perform well the task of psychological counseling and career guidance to help students maintain their spirit and confidently overcome the pressure of exam season.
On the journey to the "finish line", teachers continue to play the role of guides, accompanying students. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, a Literature teacher at Yen Lac High School, said: "I proactively build a review plan according to students' abilities. The Literature exam according to the new program can use materials outside of textbooks such as poetic passages or situations related to current events, social life, etc. Therefore, I continue to expand review materials, especially social knowledge for students.
In the last weeks, I shifted my focus to reviewing skills, practicing questions according to the new structure, guiding students on how to write social argumentative essays... to respond to changes in this year's high school graduation exam. Besides, I was close to, encouraged and provided psychological counseling to help students feel confident before the exam."
Fully aware of the importance of studying in this final stage, 12th grade students are proactive and actively review with high determination. Tran Le Minh Quan, a 12th grade student at Yen Lac High School, said: “The “sprint” stage is the golden stage for breakthroughs, not the stage of spreading out learning or “cramming” new knowledge. Therefore, I optimize the consolidation of learned knowledge and practice test-taking skills.
I study with mind maps, knowledge summary tables, practice more questions, follow the Ministry of Education and Training's sample questions... I also allocate time for each part of the exam. Besides, I try to rest, play sports to relax, mentally, and avoid stress."
Sharing that determination, To Thi Kim Hue, a 12th grade student at Nguyen Viet Xuan High School (Vinh Tuong) said: “The high school graduation exam marks an important milestone in the learning journey of students because it is not only for graduation but also a stepping stone for us to enter the university door. Therefore, I put all my effort into reviewing and consolidating my knowledge and test-taking skills. In addition to 8 classes at school, I study at home by myself, practice many questions, systematize each section of knowledge and always keep a comfortable and confident mentality.”
The 2025 high school graduation exam requires candidates to ensure knowledge, application skills, flexible thinking and problem-solving ability in the context of educational innovation. High schools in the province have proactively and flexibly implemented guidance for students to review in each stage.
In the final stage, schools combine basic knowledge review and in-depth practice tests, ensuring that students have systematic access to new types of tests.
For 12th grade students, with the spirit of "Accelerating to the finish line - Steady steps for the future", they are striving to promote the spirit of self-study, actively reviewing, consolidating knowledge, skills and stabilizing their psychology to confidently enter the exam with the determination to achieve the highest results.
