Heavy rain and strong winds have flattened and damaged large areas of rice fields in the region.

Currently, the cold air mass has affected most areas of Hue City , causing rain, moderate rain, scattered heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain and thunderstorms. On land, there have been gusts of wind up to level 6, and along the coast gusts up to levels 7-8. The total rainfall from 7 PM on April 12th to 8 AM on April 13th in Hue City is generally 40-70mm, with some areas receiving even higher amounts.

Owners of irrigation and hydropower reservoirs should proactively operate them according to approved procedures, ensuring safety.

According to a quick report from the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, heavy rain and strong winds have flattened 1,321 hectares of rice fields; including: Phong Dien town with 588 hectares, Quang Dien district with 512 hectares, Huong Tra town with 150 hectares, and Phu Xuan district with 71 hectares. Local authorities are currently inspecting the situation and implementing plans to mitigate the damage.
