Dong Nai aims to have 97% of its population participating in health insurance by 2030.

(DN) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung has just signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 8251/UBND-KGVX dated June 23, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening leadership and direction in implementing social insurance (SI), health insurance (HI), and unemployment insurance (UI) policies in the province.

Provincial leaders assigned departments and branches to regularly coordinate with the Social Insurance Agency to strengthen the dissemination of laws on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance. Thereby, helping relevant subjects understand the role and benefits of the policy, promote participation in social insurance and health insurance, contributing to ensuring sustainable social security.

In addition, coordinate to advise the Provincial People's Committee to resolve complicated and prolonged complaints and denunciations about social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance in the province to avoid affecting security and order. Relevant departments and branches continue to coordinate to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to issue a policy to support funding for voluntary social insurance participation outside the state budget and promptly issue a Resolution to support health insurance for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in the period of 2026-2030.

The Provincial Chairman assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the Social Insurance of Region XXVIII to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to consider including the development targets for social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance participants in the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the task of socio -economic development in the locality; develop and integrate social insurance and health insurance development targets into the resolutions and annual socio-economic development plans of local Party committees and authorities at all levels; put the target by 2030, the rate of working-age workers participating in social insurance reaching 61%, the rate of working-age workers participating in unemployment insurance reaching 56% and 97% of the population participating in health insurance into the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.

The provincial leaders assigned the Department of Health to proactively and synchronously deploy solutions to effectively manage and use the health insurance fund and estimate the costs of health insurance examination and treatment, and to have solutions to prevent abuse and profiteering of the health insurance fund. They requested that medical examination and treatment facilities ensure adequate supply of medicines, chemicals, medical supplies, and equipment to serve patients, and not let patients buy their own medicines and medical supplies.
