This is a special exam as it marks a fundamental change in the country'seducation . The exam results are awaited not only by millions of students but also by their parents, the education sector and the whole society.
The 2018 general education program has set a new vision for the country's education, which is a major transformation in the country's education: education has shifted from a content-based approach to a competency-based approach, forming competencies for students in the learning process.

Perhaps, after this exam, there will be many comments and assessments about this program, but as educators, participating in giving opinions on the program and textbooks of the new program, we cannot help but admit that: our country's education has been changing, changing in a positive direction, approaching the education of developed countries in the world .
Changing from a curriculum development approach that focuses on developing students’ competencies to implementing a multi-book/textbook program is a step forward. This approach, at first, inevitably caused concerns among students, parents, society, and the education sector. However, the results we have achieved in developing the 2018 General Education Program demonstrate the program’s success.
We see that the construction of different textbooks by many groups of authors and many publishers has created a new perspective on education and created a true educational market in the use of textbooks.
Teachers and students both understand that textbooks are not the only documents used in general schools. They are only considered one of the important documents in implementing the 2018 General Education Program. Understanding this, teachers in general schools as well as pedagogical colleges have made constant efforts and innovations in changing teaching methods.
General education now not only aims to equip students with knowledge, teaching by stuffing knowledge but also aims to form and develop students' abilities through education. Therefore, lessons, examples in textbooks and teachers' creativity in the teaching process are all aimed at developing students' abilities.
The change is clearly shown in students, instead of studying lopsidedly or rote, they have moved towards learning more consciously, towards forming new abilities to meet the changes in their future lives, not only theirs but also society's.

General education has changed. The 2025 high school graduation exam will show a new face of the new generation that will participate in building the country. That generation must be citizens trained to be creative, confident in stepping into future life and stepping out into the world.
The results of an exam are not only a measure of the students’ own learning achievements, but also a measure of the efforts of teachers, the care of parents and society, especially since this exam is also the result of a major change in the country’s education. Although this exam has many changes, this year’s high school graduates will only study the next 3 years of the 2018 General Education Program.
Perhaps it will take a few more years for students who have been fully trained in the new program to demonstrate the results of the program and the efforts of the education sector to change the country's education. Hopefully, with this high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training will gain experience to adjust the program, making teaching and learning more realistic, helping our citizens become creative, confident people ready to deal with an uncertain world in the future.
Hopefully, candidates entering this exam will have enough confidence to assert themselves not only through the exam results but also through their crystallization of the abilities to solve the fundamental changes of today's world, tomorrow's world with dizzying changes in technology.
New citizens of the 2018 General Education Program must truly be masters of themselves and their country, ready to devote themselves to further developing the country.
