Along with green vegetables, the prices of some aquatic and seafood products have also increased, by 10,000 - 20,000 VND/kg compared to normal days. Carp is 60,000 - 65,000 VND/kg, grass carp 90,000 - 100,000 VND/kg, tiger prawns 370,000 - 380,000 VND/kg, river prawns 230,000 - 250,000 VND/kg, and clams 20,000 - 25,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the prices of pork and beef remain stable, at 90,000 - 140,000 VND/kg for pork and 280,000 - 320,000 VND/kg for beef.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thao, a pork vendor at Tuan Viet market, said: "Normally, people's purchasing power on the second day of Tet is not as strong as during the days leading up to Tet and on regular days. However, I and many other vendors usually open our shops on this day to bring good luck for the new year."

The reason some types of green vegetables, aquatic products, and seafood are in high demand is because many people choose them to change up their family meals. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nuong from Ninh Giang town shared that during Tet, her family members were tired of many dishes like chicken, banh chung (traditional rice cake), and gio cha (Vietnamese sausage), so she decided to change things up by buying fish, prawns, and various green vegetables to make hot pot.
