Nguyen Nhut Lam, a student of class 11A1, Cai Be High School ( Tien Giang province) has just won convincingly in the second quarter of the Road to Olympia 2025 competition with 290 points. Not only did he have a laurel wreath for himself, he also brought the first year final match telecast back to Cai Be High School.
“I am very happy because I never thought that one day I would be able to bring the final broadcast of Road to Olympia back to my school and Tien Giang province,” Lam shared.

Sharing about the nervous moments in the second quarter competition, Lam said that the moment she was most worried was when she finished the Warm-up round. At that time, she was at the bottom of the mountain climbing group with 40 points and 55 points behind the temporarily leading player. “That gap in a quarter competition was too big because the other players were all excellent. At that moment, I was both worried and thinking about having to be more determined and think faster in the Obstacle Course round to solve the first obstacle. Otherwise, the possibility of losing would be very high. Finally, I did it,” Lam said.
However, the male student said that the moment that made him feel the most “explosive” was when he won the right to answer and gave the correct answer to 3 questions in the Finishing round of the other contestants. All 3 questions were worth 30 points - very high scores and contributed to his overall victory.
Lam shared that she started following and being passionate about the show Road to Olympia since grade 3 and almost never missed a match. “Back then, every time I sat in front of the TV, I longed for the day I could participate in the Road to Olympia playground and conquer the questions of the show,” Lam said.
To get the results today, Lam has worked very hard and studied seriously. Not only this school year's knowledge, Lam also tries to review the knowledge learned in textbooks from previous classes as well as read and research new knowledge. She watches more news to update her general knowledge.
“Thanks to reviewing and mastering the knowledge of the lower grades, in the second quarter competition, I was able to answer the question about the division process of the HIV virus in the human body in the field of Biology,” Lam said.
In class, Lam often focuses on listening to the teacher's lectures to quickly grasp basic knowledge and easily handle homework. In addition to the core knowledge in textbooks, he reads many books and newspapers. The male student likes to read about history.
Lam said he likes and is quite confident in social sciences and especially English. The male student believes that self-study is very important and he mainly studies at home.

Mr. Bui Van Phi, Principal of Cai Be High School, commented that Nhut Lam is a very outstanding student at school. Recently, the male student also won second prize in the provincial English competition.
“His knowledge and general understanding are very good. Lam is hardworking and has a strong ability to self-study. Although he is quiet and reserved, he gets along well with everyone,” Mr. Phi commented.
According to Mr. Phi, although he is studying in class 11A1 with a natural science orientation, Lam still studies and is good at social science subjects.
“During flag-raising activities, the school designed a quiz on general knowledge, Lam actively volunteered to answer and was able to answer almost every question. According to teachers, in class, Lam was a student who 'didn't want to take a break', no matter how much the teacher taught, she tried to absorb it with great enthusiasm, not wanting to sit idle. Many times when her classmates wanted to take a break, Lam still asked to continue studying,” Mr. Phi shared with a smile.
Mr. Phi said that the interesting thing is that in Tien Giang, there is an intellectual program called “Road to Glory” with the same format as Road to Olympia and Lam has also won first place in the quarter and entered the final round of the year. The principal assessed the male student as a calm person in handling situations.
To prepare for the final match of Olympia, Lam said that she will try to improve her knowledge every day. She does not set too high a goal for the final match of the year, but focuses on keeping a relaxed spirit when entering the competition. For now, she is still focusing on completing her school program well.
