The unit promotes training, fostering, and encouraging the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to make breakthroughs, contributing to improving management efficiency and serving local socio -economic development.

IN-DEPTH TRAINING, MASTERING TECHNOLOGY

Lang Son is an important gateway for import and export activities in the Northeast region with the Chinese market. The Customs Branch of Region VI regularly has to handle a large volume of procedures, records, and documents related to the import, export, and entry and exit of goods, people, and vehicles. This requires the officers and civil servants of the Branch to not only be good at their profession but also proficient in technology in performing their duties.

Implementing a strong digital transformation strategy throughout the customs sector, in recent times, the Department has proactively organized many in-depth training courses, linking practical operations with the trend of applying modern technology. In March 2025 alone, the Department organized a "Digital Popularization" class for 340 civil servants of the unit, organized three training courses on applying artificial intelligence AI (using tools such as Gemini AI for Google Work...) for nearly 150 civil servants to modernize internal management work...; in which, focusing on security and ethics in using technology when performing official duties.

From these classes, the Department has applied and completed the functions of the paperless meeting software; deployed the Zalo OA page, the Facebook page of the Customs Department of Region VI to inform businesses about the State's policies and regulations on goods import and export policies, procedures; designed a column combining AI to answer customs procedure consultations in an automatic manner; upgraded the staff management software (staff rotation) to suit the new organizational structure...

In the past, the Department has opened internal self-training courses to guide the operation and effective use of automatic customs clearance systems, risk management on digital platforms, and specialized software to optimize business processes, reduce time and costs for businesses. By July 2025, the Department will pilot intellectual property software; deploy a combined shipping module; review and cancel accounts on the VNACCS/VCIS system, E_Customs system, MHS, GTT02, centralized tax accounting (KTT59), MHS, ...

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Loan, Deputy Head of the Department of Personnel Organization, in addition to professional knowledge, training courses focus on developing data analysis skills, critical thinking, teamwork and the ability to adapt flexibly to rapid changes in the digital environment. “For the first time, the Department has organized a training course on AI application in teaching and training for leaders and internal lecturers of the unit. This is a new step forward, turning the team into technology “fire-spreaders” within the unit, concretizing the improvement of the quality of internal self-training”, Ms. Loan shared.

EFFECTIVE PRACTICAL APPLICATION

The value of these courses and training classes is not only in imparting knowledge, but also in providing an environment for officers and civil servants of the Department to promote the spirit of self-study, creativity, collective cohesion, and improve professional skills in performing public duties in practice.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung, a civil servant at the Office of the Department, said: In the past, I often had to process documents and make reports manually, which took a lot of effort and time. After participating in the "Digital Education for the People" course and training on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in my work, I was able to perform my work quickly and accurately, significantly reducing time and errors.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Tri, Chief of Office of the Department, the classes are designed to closely follow the needs of the job, have high practicality and introduce basic theory. This is the right direction that the Department will continue to implement in the coming time.

As evidenced by the results achieved, the export and import turnover of all types of goods through the Department in 7 months reached 49,703.9 million USD, an increase of 51% over the same period in 2024 (export reached 15,242.6 million USD, import reached 34,461.3 million USD)... At the same time, the Department has supervised and managed 55,123 means of transport passing through the border area. After only 7 months of 2025, the Department has reached the early target for state budget collection when reaching 6,639 billion VND, an increase of 60% over the same period in 2024, reaching 103% compared to the assigned ordinance target (6,450 billion VND), reaching 58% compared to the assigned target (11,400 billion VND).

A team of cadres and civil servants, when fully equipped with knowledge, skills and digital thinking, will be a solid foundation for the Department to perform well its assigned political tasks. The Department always has plans and opens systematic training courses, associated with the application of technology and artificial intelligence, in line with the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. "With that orientation, along with the initiative and enthusiasm of each cadre and civil servant, Customs Region VI is gradually building a team "capable of going further and faster", not only completing political tasks well, but also actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality and the country", Mr. Ma Thanh Giang, Deputy Head of the Department emphasized.
