Launching the Board of Directors of the Seven Palaces Ancient Temple (Ong Pagoda) for the 2025-2030 term

(DN) - On the evening of August 15, at Sen Vang Restaurant, Tran Bien Ward, the launching ceremony of the Board of Directors of That Phu Co Mieu (Ong Pagoda) for the 2025-2030 term took place.

Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Hong Trang, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Ven, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province and localities; Chinese association halls from Dong Nai and neighboring provinces and cities.

The Board of Directors of the Seven Palaces Ancient Temple for the 2025-2030 term has 20 members, headed by Mr. Huynh Huu Nghia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Huu Nghia said: Ong Pagoda was built in 1684, is the earliest Quan Thanh temple in the Southern region, associated with the history of formation and development of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai . In recent years, Ong Pagoda relic has coordinated with departments, branches and localities to mobilize social resources to promote the restoration and embellishment of relics and maintain annual festivals. In 2023, Ong Pagoda Festival was included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

In the 2025-2030 term, the Board of Directors of the Seven Palaces Ancient Temple hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of local authorities at all levels for policies and activities at Ong Pagoda. Thereby, strongly promoting the historical, cultural and artistic values of the relic.

On this occasion, the Board of Directors of That Phu Co Mieu donated 30 tons of rice to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, 12 tons of rice to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tran Bien ward and 8 tons of rice to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bien Hoa ward.
