Enhancing position in the new era

In recent years, the movement “Building Vietnamese women in the new era” has become a bright spot in the province’s patriotic emulation movement. Not only does it motivate women to practice and strive, the movement also contributes significantly to building the great national unity bloc, promoting socio-economic development, preserving cultural identity and consolidating and stabilizing politics right from the grassroots.

The movement was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) to arouse pride in the fine traditions of Vietnamese women, aiming to build the image of women of the new era with 4 core criteria: "Knowledgeable, ethical, healthy and responsible".

On that basis, the Provincial Women's Union has concretized many proactive, creative and practical solutions for each locality, closely linked with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" and the Movement "Lao Cai women promote cultural identity, humanity and affection".

Thanks to flexible approaches and promoting the role of the grassroots, the movement has gone into depth, creating a clear change from awareness to action of cadres and members.

The outstanding result is the work of supporting women to study, improve their qualifications, and access digital technology . Hundreds of training classes and popularization of smartphone usage skills were organized, helping many women in the highlands access online public services for the first time.

The entire province has 100% of the grassroots associations participating in the community digital transformation team, directly guiding people to operate in the digital environment. The movement to support women in starting a business continues to make a strong impression.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the province established 90 new cooperatives with women participating in management, 16 enterprises owned by women and created jobs for more than 9,700 female workers. The Provincial Women's Union has supported thousands of livelihood models with a total value of tens of billions of VND.

In the field of science and technology , Lao Cai women have 128 provincial-level initiatives and 23 research topics led by women that have been recognized, demonstrating their intellectual maturity and courage.

Chairman of the Provincial Women's Union Dinh Minh Ha affirmed: Lao Cai women not only play a good role in the family but also strive to assert themselves in all fields. From each creative model, each project, each task, women have contributed to spreading the emulation movement widely, becoming an important driving force for the province to complete its development goals.

Along with improving knowledge, women's associations at all levels focus on cultivating ethics and a compassionate lifestyle. Meaningful models such as: "Godmother", "Happy family", "Giving love - receiving happiness", "Civilized household groups" are effectively maintained.

The province currently has 652 orphans being sponsored; 308 “Shelters of Love” for women in difficulty have been built and repaired; social security resources for women and children have reached over 39 billion VND. These practical activities have spread a compassionate lifestyle, strengthened community cohesion and affirmed the role of women in preserving traditional values.

The cultural and sports movement has also been strongly promoted. The whole province has 1,650 clubs operating regularly, attracting tens of thousands of female members to participate in training.

Along with that, the model of “5 no, 3 clean” was deployed synchronously. The whole province has built 2,645 works, works, hundreds of flower roads, “bright - green - clean - beautiful” roads have been completed, contributing to improving the quality of the living environment.

The Women's Union of Lam Thuong commune is one of the bright spots in effectively implementing the movement. With 3,380 members and 31 branches, women here have become the core force in building new rural areas.

The whole commune has 2,600 member households achieving "5 no, 3 clean"; the association at all levels built 9 flower roads, 11 projects to light up rural roads with a total cost of more than 200 million VND; sponsored 45 orphans...

Ms. Trieu Thi Ngan - a member of the Women's Union of Lam Thuong commune shared: By participating in the movement, we learned how to do business, raise children and be more responsible to the community. My family has escaped poverty and has more motivation to rise up.

In addition, the role of women in the political system is increasingly affirmed. Currently, Lao Cai has a high proportion of female cadres participating in People's Councils and Party Committees at all levels in the region, of which female provincial People's Council delegates reach 35%, female National Assembly delegates reach 50%.

The results achieved show that the Movement "Building Vietnamese Women of the New Era" is not just a slogan but has entered life, creating real changes in each family and residential area.

With the spirit of solidarity, creativity and aspiration to rise up, Lao Cai women are continuing to affirm their important role in socio-economic development, contributing to building a rich and civilized Lao Cai, becoming a land of aspiration for innovation and integration.
