Enhancing digital transformation awareness and capacity among youth in Da Nang.

Within the framework of the "Digital Transformation Festival for Youth" program in 2024, the Organizing Committee held a seminar titled "Digital Transformation – New Opportunities – A New Future".

On the morning of October 10th, the Da Nang Youth Union and the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications organized the "Digital Transformation Festival for Youth" 2024. This is one of the activities to celebrate the National Digital Transformation Day on October 10th. At the same time, this Festival aims to raise awareness and create a shift in the actions of youth union members, young people, and the people of Da Nang regarding the importance of digital transformation in serving the socio -economic development of Da Nang, making it a leading city nationwide in the industrialization and modernization process.

Speaking at the program, Comrade Le Cong Hung – Deputy Secretary in charge of the Da Nang City Youth Union – shared: “Currently, youth union members are a dynamic, creative, and perceptive force, mastering science and technology; they are the vanguard and main force, creating breakthroughs and new values ​​in the national digital transformation. Promoting digital transformation and shifting the activities of the Youth Union to the digital environment; focusing on propaganda, career guidance, and encouraging cadres and youth union members to actively participate in training and skill development in information technology, especially in the field of semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence; contributing to the development of high-quality young human resources, and promoting Da Nang youth to become a pioneering force in realizing the construction of a smart and modern city.”

Previously, in his welcoming speech at the 2024 "Digital Transformation Festival for Youth," Mr. Le Son Phong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications, stated that the Department has advised and submitted to the City People's Committee for consideration the issuance of a Digital Competency Framework for Citizens in Da Nang City. This framework will help equip citizens with the skills and attitudes to search for and process information, work in online teams, and improve learning efficiency; and equip them with the skills to recognize and prevent online dangers such as fake news, scams, and personal data infringement.

The organizing committee presented flowers to the partner organizations at the "Digital Transformation Festival for Youth" in 2024.

“Through this Festival, I believe that the Youth Union members and young people will be positive and proactive factors in learning, equipping themselves with digital knowledge and skills, and researching and implementing these initiatives on a larger scale in their units and schools,” Comrade Le Son Phong expressed, adding: In the journey of implementing digital transformation and building a smart city that the Da Nang City Government is currently undertaking, there is still much work to be done, especially in raising awareness that “there is no concept of delegation in digital transformation,” and that “digital technology users have a decisive role,”… This responsibility and burden falls heavily on the Youth Union and young people in digitizing and creating digital data; contributing ideas, commissioning digital transformation projects, listening to the people to propose applications and services according to the needs of citizens and businesses; disseminating information and guiding people on digital transformation; and especially, young people must be the first “digital citizens” to spread the message to the community.

According to representatives of the Festival Organizing Committee, identifying digital transformation as a driving force in the city's development is an urgent, long-term, and central task throughout all activities of the City Youth Union. Based on this, this year's Festival program features many vibrant activities such as: a seminar on "Digital Transformation – New Opportunities – A New Future"; an exhibition on "Digital Transformation Products in the Youth Union in 2024" with the participation of 20 booths integrating and applying technologies in the field of digital transformation and semiconductor microchips from universities, businesses, youth union branches at all levels, and youth union members; a competition on "Designing Artificial Intelligence for a Livable Da Nang" with creative ideas, models, projects, or products in digital transformation, applying information technology and artificial intelligence to serve in work, study, and daily life; and a Job and Study Fair in Semiconductor Microchips and Artificial Intelligence at a specialized university.
