Newcastle explode in the second half at Brentford
Newcastle and Brentford had a strange first half at Brentford Community Stadium, with Ivan Toney becoming the centre of attention in more ways than one. The England international put the ball in the Newcastle net in the 8th minute but the goal was ruled out after VAR found him offside.
In the 29th minute, Ivan Toney was given the opportunity to take a penalty after Schade was fouled in the penalty area. However, Toney was unable to beat Pope.
Too much bad luck for Toney, but the English player still opened the score. In the first minute of injury time, Toney was awarded a penalty after his teammate was fouled by an opponent player in the penalty area.

After the break, Newcastle came out strong. The visitors played an effective attack, in the 54th minute Raya blocked Joelinton's cross but accidentally let the ball change direction and go into the net. 7 minutes after the equalizer, Newcastle took the lead 2-1 thanks to a goal by Isak. In the 66th minute, Wilson put the ball into the home team's net but the goal was disallowed due to handball.
However, when Brentford could not find an equalizer, Newcastle still won 2-1 in the end. With three more points, Newcastle rose to 56 points and reclaimed third place just a few hours after it fell to Man Utd.
Tottenham push back Brighton
Tottenham are currently in 5th place, Brighton in 6th place. The match between the two teams is considered an opportunity to determine the status of candidates competing for the Top 4 of the Premier League.
In the 10th minute, Son Heung Min curled the ball beautifully from outside the penalty area into the net, defeating Brighton's goalkeeper, bringing home the opening goal. Son Heung Min "called" and Mitoma quickly "answered". In the 17th minute, Mitoma got down to control the ball with his chest and then kicked the ball into the home team's net. Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed because Mitoma let the ball touch his hand when controlling the ball.

However, it didn't take Brighton long to equalize 1-1. In the 34th minute, Dunk went up to take part in a corner kick, sneaked behind and headed near the far post to score for the away team.
Brighton were not afraid of Tottenham, even in the first half, the away team was better in attack. Playing aggressively in the second half, Brighton paid a heavy price when this team finished very poorly, not even once on target in the second half.
In the 59th minute, the referee sent off both coaches Stellini and De Zerbi for arguing too much on the sidelines. Thus, both teams were without a main coach for the last 30 minutes of the match.
