Russia provides emergency aid of 30 tons of goods to people affected by natural disasters in the central region.

On the morning of October 30, a plane of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations landed at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), carrying 30 tons of humanitarian aid for people in Vietnamese localities affected by recent natural disasters.

Representatives of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) received the above international emergency aid from the Government of the Russian Federation. It is known that this amount of goods will be urgently delivered to people affected by heavy rain, floods, and inundation in Hue city.

The aid includes: 58 rescue boats and working boats, 1,000 sets of dishes, 1,000 blankets, 1,000 sets of bedding, 55 tents and a large quantity of canned food. This aid is carried out under the direction of the Government of the Russian Federation, demonstrating friendship and solidarity with the people of Vietnam.

The shipment was delivered to Noi Bai Airport at 6:35 a.m. on October 30 by special aircraft number SUM 9121 of the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Mitigation of the Russian Federation (Ministry of Emergencies).

At the handover ceremony, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko handed over the aid to Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.

Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko expressed his deep condolences to the Government and people of Vietnam for the losses and damages caused by recent floods in the Northern and Central regions, and pledged to continue accompanying Vietnam in natural disaster prevention and control.

Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Nguyen Truong Son expressed his gratitude for the valuable support from the Government and people of the Russian Federation, affirming that the department will take on the role of coordination well, promptly transferring aid goods to the city so that the locality can deliver them to people affected by natural disasters.

After receiving, the shipment is expected to be delivered to Hue city on October 30 so that the locality can distribute it to people in disaster areas.
