Worthy of the name of thrifty woman

- In recent years, learning and following Uncle Ho's example, women's associations at all levels in the province have expanded savings models from family to community, creating funds to support members in difficult circumstances.

For over 10 years, the Women's Union of Block 7, Dong Kinh Ward has maintained a piggy bank. Accordingly, each member raises a piggy bank at home, and at the end of the year, they will "slaughter the piggy bank" and allocate a portion to lend to members in need without interest. Ms. Bui Thi Hao, Head of the Women's Union of Block 7, Dong Kinh Ward, shared: Remembering Uncle Ho's teachings on saving, from daily grocery shopping money, sales profits, salaries... women set aside a small portion to save. We use this savings for family expenses or lend to women in need without interest and give gifts to children and members in need. Although the amount is small, it can do many meaningful things.

From 2021 to present, the association at all levels has maintained and expanded savings models following Uncle Ho's example, with over 4,500 models, the total amount of savings is over 3.6 billion VND. In the past 5 years, the association at all levels has supported and coordinated to support over 3,300 member households to escape poverty and near poverty (exceeding the annual target by 68%), including the form of interest-free loan support from savings models.

Not only the Women's Union of Block 7, many women's unions and groups in the province have maintained and expanded savings models following Uncle Ho's example. Specifically: raising savings pigs; saving through savings and loan groups; saving through the "Green House" model, "turning trash into money"... From 2021 to now, the unions at all levels have maintained and expanded savings models following Uncle Ho's example, with over 4,500 models, the total amount of savings is over 3.6 billion VND. In the past 5 years, the unions at all levels have supported and coordinated to support over 3,300 member households to escape poverty and near-poverty (exceeding the annual target by 68%), including the form of interest-free loans from savings models.

Ms. Vu Thi Huyen Trang, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, Head of the Women's Affairs Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee affirmed: We have widely implemented the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in all levels of the union, in conjunction with the emulation movement "Building a new era of Lang Son Women". All levels of the union focus on propagating and mobilizing women to change their awareness from studying to following. In particular, we have launched the practice of saving following Uncle Ho's example from individuals to branches, with practical and suitable saving models.

To spread widely the study and following of Uncle Ho in general and the practice of thrift following his example in particular, the association at all levels has promoted propaganda work on the significance of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle through branch activities, clubs and social networks to help members raise awareness in practicing thrift.

At the same time, the Women's Union at all levels commended and promoted advanced models in implementing the emulation movement "Building a new-age Lang Son Women" associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. From 2021 to now, the Women's Union at all levels has commended and rewarded 87 typical advanced collectives and individuals, including typical models of studying and following Uncle Ho.

Ms. Lang Thi Dao, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Thuy Hung commune, said: Currently, the commune has 27 branches and more than 1,300 women members. In our commune, we have promoted propaganda, made studying and following Uncle Ho a regular task, self-awareness of cadres, members and women, associated with the implementation of key tasks, emulation movements and campaigns. At all 27/27 branches, there are specific activities and models to study and follow Uncle Ho. The highlight is practicing saving following Uncle Ho's example at the savings and loan groups. Currently, the association has mobilized over 200 members to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank to participate in monthly savings with the lowest level of 50,000 VND, up to now the savings balance is 281 million VND. Thereby, raising the awareness of saving of borrowers, adding conditions for debt repayment, interest, reducing the burden when the loan repayment deadline comes.

With creative and effective models, women's associations at all levels in the province have actively learned and followed Uncle Ho's example of practicing thrift. This perseverance has brought about practical results, contributing to continuing to affirm the role of women in economic development and social security.
