Using contemporary fashion language, designer Vu Viet Ha presents a collection honoring Vietnamese cultural heritage called Sac Phong .
Honoring ancient beauty
Vu Viet Ha said that this ao dai collection was inspired by a royal decree of the Le Dynasty that he accidentally came across during a business trip to France.
From there, he immediately thought of making designs that honor the ancient beauty of seals, arranging traditional layouts in art (patterns, sculptures, architecture...) in a sophisticated way, creating artistic beauty.
In addition, the elements of shape, color and lines are also focused on, creating a harmonious and attractive work.
The special thing about Sac Phong is that the material is hand-woven by skilled artisans using the ancient Sa Nam technique. From silk threads, banana threads, lotus threads and aromatic leaf threads, processed by natural methods such as steaming and boiling to retain the rusticity, toughness and shine.
The owners of these pieces of fabric are artisans from the craft villages of Van Phuc, Nam Cao, Quat Dong, Vu Thu, and Trach Xa.
Through the hands of artisans, each shirt is woven like a living work of art. Each shirt recalls a part of cultural memory created with love.
