More than 100 delegates were officers from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Center for Science and Technology Application and Plant and Animal Protection, and owners of livestock farms in the area.
In Ha Tinh, prolonged rains have flooded many livestock areas and barns, polluting the livestock environment; livestock households have increased their herds to meet the demand during the Lunar New Year; increased buying, selling, and transportation activities... are risks of the emergence and spread of dangerous infectious diseases in livestock and poultry, especially ASF.
Therefore, good implementation of livestock management and disease prevention, especially ASF, is a condition for livestock farming activities to take place safely and effectively.
From August 2023 to present, DTLCP has developed complicatedly in localities across the country and the North Central region. In Ha Tinh, from November 10 to December 19, 2023, ASF occurred in 11 communes: Cam Duong, Cam Quan, Nam Phuc Thang, Cam Lac, Cam Thach (Cam Xuyen); Lam Trung Thuy (Duc Tho); Xuan Pho (Nghi Xuan); Trung Luong ward, Dau Lieu ward (Hong Linh town); Tan Lam Huong, Thach Ngoc (Thach Ha), causing 213 sick and dead pigs, forcing them to be destroyed with a weight of over 16 tons. |
