Fresh flowers are a popular gift during holidays, so these days, flower shops in Ha Tinh are always bustling with customers. It is noted that during this year’s holiday, although gifts are diverse, fresh flowers are still the main gift. From roses, sunflowers, lilies, orchids... to imported varieties such as tulips, peonies, Ecuadorian roses... are all favored by consumers. Since mid-October, the purchasing power of fresh flowers in Ha Tinh has increased sharply and reached its peak during the holidays. To meet the high demand of customers, shop owners have proactively imported more goods, mobilized maximum staff to arrange flowers, wrap gifts and deliver orders. Many shops work day and night, the busy, urgent atmosphere is evident from the counter to the street. Mr. Tran Nhat Liem, owner of LiLi flower shop (Phan Dinh Phung street, Thanh Sen ward), shared: "As the holiday approaches, the number of orders increases sharply. Since last night, October 19, the shop has mobilized all employees to work late at night to be able to pack and deliver flowers to customers early this morning."
Many stores proactively import goods early, especially Da Lat flowers and imported flowers, to ensure a stable supply and avoid sudden price increases. Home delivery service and free greeting cards also help buyers more conveniently order gifts for their loved ones. The trend of gentle pastel flowers and creative arrangements is chosen by many people. Mr. Mai Van Thanh, owner of Anh Nguyet flower shop (Phan Dinh Phung street, Thanh Sen ward), said: "Customers usually spend an average of 500,000 - 1,500,000 VND/basket. In addition to individual customers, the group of customers ordering gift baskets for agencies and businesses also increased during this time. Mr. Tran Van Hoa (70 years old, Cam Xuyen commune) shared: “Every October 20, I always take time to go to the flower shop to buy a bouquet for my wife. Although the gift is only about 200,000 VND, it is a habit I have kept for decades. For me, giving flowers is a way to express my love and respect for my life partner who has always shared the joys and sorrows with me.”
According to a survey, the price of Da Lat roses ranges from 25,000 - 35,000 VND/flower, imported flowers 40,000 - 60,000 VND/flower, a slight increase of 10 - 20% compared to normal days. Although the gift market is quite diverse, purchasing power at fresh flower shops still increased slightly. Representatives of some stores said that the rate of customers ordering flower baskets in the price range of 800,000 - 2,000,000 VND/basket increased by about 10% compared to last year, mainly serving customers such as businesses, agencies, schools... Choosing flowers to give to his mother, Mr. Pham Van Tuan (34 years old, Tran Phu ward) shared: "My mother really likes fresh roses, so every year I give her a bouquet of roses on October 20. Fresh flowers are sold in a variety of ways this year, the price is not too high, with only 250,000 VND, I can buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers."
The price of fresh flowers is a bit higher this year, but the shopping atmosphere at the stores is still very lively. Shop owners hope that on October 20, more customers will come to choose fresh flowers to send to their loved ones, contributing to making the October 20 holiday complete, meaningful and warm.
