4 months – 50 projects
In just two days, April 26 and 27, the last 12 110kV projects out of 50 projects celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and 50 years of construction and development of EVNSPC were successfully energized, completing the plan set by the Party Committee and the Board of Members of EVNSPC at the beginning of the year. This achievement demonstrates the determination and great efforts of all leaders, officers and employees of EVNSPC on the journey to fulfill the mission of bringing electricity one step ahead.
Of these, two projects registered by the EVNSPC Party Committee to welcome the 4th Congress of the Vietnam Electricity Group Party Committee (term 2025 - 2030) include: Cai Rang 110kV transformer station and connecting line ( Can Tho City ); Thanh Binh 110kV transformer station and connecting line (Dong Thap), both of which were completed ahead of schedule, with a construction time of only 4 - 5 months, despite the huge workload.
In addition, there are many power supply projects to meet the double-digit growth needs of localities in 2025 and the following years. In particular, in provinces with rapid development, many industrial parks and clusters have been invested in timely power supply on this occasion. Typically, Binh Duong has 7 projects; Dong Thap has 6 projects; Ba Ria - Vung Tau has 5 projects; Ben Tre has 4 projects; Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh each have 3 projects... In which, many projects contribute to improving the reliability of power supply, serving the load in industrial parks such as: Giang Dien Industrial Park 110kV Station (Dong Nai); Du Long Industrial Park Transformer Station (Ninh Thuan); Thanh An 110kV Station (Binh Duong); 110kV transmission from Phuoc Long 220kV Station (Binh Phuoc)...
In addition, many other key 110kV projects in localities such as: 110kV North Phu Quoc Station, 110kV U Minh Thuong Station and connecting lines in Kien Giang; Ninh Phuoc - Tuy Phong - Phan Ri Circuit 2 Line (Binh Thuan - Ninh Thuan); Renovation and capacity increase of Dam Doi 110kV Substation (Ca Mau); Renovation and capacity increase of 110kV line of Bao Loc - Di Linh 220kV Substation (Lam Dong)... have also been completed and put into operation in the first quarter of 2025, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in localities.
Proactively manage the "golden time" of construction
To achieve the above results, from the beginning of 2025, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of EVNSPC together with more than 20,000 cadres, workers and employees launched and responded to the emulation, determined to complete the target of 50 110kV projects before April 30, 2025.
This is a challenging goal in the context of many difficulties such as overlapping investment procedures, complex construction sites, shortage of human resources, difficult terrain and geological conditions... However, thanks to innovation in management, solidarity and high responsibility of the whole system, EVNSPC has gradually overcome difficulties and mastered the progress.
According to EVNSPC Board of Members Chairman Le Van Trang, in 2025, the Southern electricity sector has changed its approach to investment and construction: instead of pushing progress to the end of the year as usual, EVNSPC has proactively started construction from the beginning of the year to take advantage of the dry season - the "golden time" for construction, installation, and transportation of materials and equipment. This approach not only demonstrates a flexible and practical management mindset, but also helps to proactively allocate human resources and resources appropriately.
EVNSPC leaders, from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director to members of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Directors, are all present at the construction site, working with project management units, power companies, and contractors to resolve specific problems for each project. That close attention is demonstrated from the meeting room to the construction site, from the office to the power pole, from direct working sessions to online meetings.
The determination to finish on schedule, ensure safety and quality of the project has spread to each construction team. Many projects are organized to work in three shifts, four shifts, working day and night, even during the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and Lunar New Year holidays.
In order for the 50 projects to "finish" on time, there were great and enthusiastic contributions from the leadership team, technical staff, workers and employees of member power companies, the Southern Power Project Management Board, the Southern Power Grid Project Management Board, the Southern Power Testing Company, the Southern Power Consulting Company, the SCADA Operation Center... Especially the accompaniment and active support from local authorities and people in the site handover work.
50 110kV power grid projects are not only a symbol of 50 years of national reunification, 50 years of construction and growth of the Southern electricity industry, but also a deep gratitude from the collective of EVNSPC cadres and employees today to the Fatherland, to the previous generations of the electricity industry. This is also an affirmation of the determination of a dynamic collective, ready to enter a new stage of development, continuing with Vietnam Electricity Group to fulfill the mission assigned by the Party and the State.
Immediately after completing 50 projects to celebrate April 30, EVNSPC immediately deployed the operation, construction and energization of 34 more projects in May - June 2025, striving to complete 84 projects in the first 6 months of the year. In particular, special attention was paid to completely handling 100% of 110kV power grid projects that had been stuck and prolonged for many years.
