Half-term efforts to overcome difficulties Looking back at the past half-term, in the difficult context, especially the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism industry has made constant efforts to overcome all challenges. As one of the industries that suffered the most damage, tourism is also the industry with the fastest recovery and development rate after the pandemic. During the pandemic, instead of completely stagnating, tourism businesses took advantage of the time to actively invest in building infrastructure for hotels, restaurants, homestays... upgrading services, creating new tourism products. In particular, the tourism industry has been proactive and flexible in advising on closing and opening to welcome guests. Thanks to that, Ninh Binh is one of the localities that opened tourism earliest, had a large number of tourists and ranked among the top in the country as soon as it opened after the pandemic.
Comrade Bui Van Manh, Director of the Department of Tourism, said: In the period of 2021-2023, despite being greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole industry still overcame difficulties and challenges. In 2021, the whole province welcomed over 1 million visitors. In 2022, it welcomed 3.7 million visitors, an increase of 3.6 times over the same period last year. Revenue reached 3.45 trillion VND, an increase of 5 times over the same period in 2021.
In the first 9 months of 2023, the whole province welcomed about 5.52 million visitors, 1.9 times higher than the same period last year. Revenue reached more than 5,060 billion VND, 2.2 times higher than the same period in 2022. Security, order, environmental sanitation, food safety, and tourism civilization at tourist areas and spots in the province are always guaranteed.
Throughout the past half term, the tourism sector has strengthened the effectiveness of state management in the tourism sector, proactively advised and proposed the Provincial People's Committee to issue many documents directing the promotion of tourism development and state management to build the image of a safe, friendly and attractive destination, focusing on civilized lifestyle and cultural behavior towards tourists...
In addition, many tourism activities are organized on a large scale, contributing to attracting a large number of tourists such as: Hoa Lu National Tourism Year, Ninh Binh 2021; Ninh Binh Tourism Week every year with the theme "Golden Color of Tam Coc - Trang An"; Trang An Festival, Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival...
Ninh Binh province is always in the top of the provinces that are bright spots in terms of security, safety, and environmental hygiene. The image and tourism brand of Ninh Binh is strongly affirmed on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world; for 3 consecutive years, Ninh Binh has been voted by international travel magazines and websites as one of the top attractive destinations in Vietnam and the region.
In 2022, the world's leading travel magazine Time Out (UK) voted Ninh Binh as a pristine gem in Southeast Asia but still unknown to many foreign tourists. In 2023, Ninh Binh tourism was voted in the top 10 friendliest destinations in the world; the best family resort destination in the world; Cuc Phuong National Park was recognized 5 times in a row as Asia's leading national park.
The noble titles and countless compliments that domestic and international tourists have bestowed on Ninh Binh in the past 3 years have further demonstrated the potential beauty of the land of "mountains and waters", contributing to widely promoting the image and cultural identity of the land and people of the Ancient Capital. This is also a source of pride and motivation for the tourism industry to continue to successfully achieve the goals set in the remaining half of the term.
Sustainable tourism development Comrade Bui Van Manh, Director of the Department of Tourism informed: The goal by 2025, the tourism industry strives to welcome over 8.25 million visitors, of which international visitors are estimated to reach 1 million, domestic visitors are estimated to reach over 7.25 million (exceeding the target set by the 22nd Provincial Party Congress of 8 million). Strive for tourism revenue to reach over 10,000 billion VND (exceeding the target assigned by the 22nd Congress of 8,000-9,000 billion VND). Strive to create jobs for about 25,000 workers by 2025, including about 9,000 direct workers.
To successfully achieve the above goal, together with Resolution 08-NQ/TW of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector and Resolution No. 07-NQ/TU dated October 29, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development in Ninh Binh province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045, the tourism industry continues to synchronously implement many solutions.
Focusing on promoting propaganda and raising awareness of tourism; strengthening State management of tourism; training and developing human resources for tourism; mobilizing resources to invest in building infrastructure and tourism products; developing markets, advertising and promoting tourism; applying science and technology in tourism development.
Ninh Binh's consistent strategy is to develop green tourism, sustainable tourism and community-based tourism. This is also clearly shown in the Resolution of the 22nd Provincial Party Congress: focusing on developing high-tech, green, clean industry and focusing on developing tourism to become a spearhead economic sector. To achieve this strategic goal, the tourism industry continues to prioritize the development of high-quality tourism.
Focus on preserving and promoting the historical, cultural and traditional values of the nation and the province, creating unique, attractive and high-quality tourism products bearing the Ninh Binh tourism brand.
At the same time, develop both domestic and international tourism, focusing on tourists who need to use high-end services.
The industry also continues to innovate, promote socialization, linkage, mobilize and effectively use all resources of natural resources, cultural history, and human resources to develop tourism in the context of international integration and the fourth industrial revolution.
Strongly promote the role of enterprises, effectively solve labor, employment and social security issues and ensure harmony between the interests of the State, enterprises and local people in tourist areas, proactively and flexibly respond to complex developments of natural disasters, epidemics and climate change.
Develop programs and regulations to protect, preserve and promote the value of tourist attractions, including specific regulations on the responsibility to protect, preserve and maintain related architectural works and ecological landscapes.
Promote propaganda and education, raise social and community awareness, strengthen protection of natural resources and historical and cultural relics to contribute to sustainable tourism development.
