Tax industry wants to have its own e-commerce portal for individuals and business households

ANTD.VN - The General Department of Taxation's leaders said that applying the same tax management method for e-commerce as for traditional business activities leads to many shortcomings and difficulties in implementation.

On August 26, the General Department of Taxation held a meeting to discuss the plan to build an e-commerce portal for individuals and e-commerce business households.

According to Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of the Department of Tax Management for Small and Medium Enterprises, Business Households and Individuals, the research and development of the Electronic Information Portal aims to facilitate individuals doing e-commerce business in Vietnam to register for tax, declare tax and pay tax. Departments and units of the General Department of Taxation have held many meetings to discuss professional matters and agree on the implementation plan of the e-commerce Portal for individuals.

Many shortcomings when applying e-commerce tax management as for traditional business activities

According to Deputy General Director Mai Son, because current policies are not specific to e-commerce business activities, applying the same management methods as for traditional business activities leads to many shortcomings and difficulties in implementation.

In addition, in the initial period of encouraging taxpayers' voluntary compliance, tax authorities all provide support to taxpayers to optimize the amount of money payable due to tax law violations.

Therefore, Mr. Mai Son suggested that the Tax Departments actively discuss and contribute opinions on practical aspects of local management activities to support future implementation.

Deputy Director General of the General Department of Taxation Mai Son also noted to the units about the issue of building policies and procedures for registration, declaration and post-audit for individuals doing e-commerce business in the spirit of supporting taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations in the most convenient way.
