PV Power's Skills and Professional Training Day

The 15th Occupational Safety and Health - Fire Prevention and Fighting (PCCN) Sports Festival in 2025 of Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation (PV Power) was hosted by Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant (under Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company).

According to Mr. Nguyen Mau Cam - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company, under the direction of PV Power, previously, Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company coordinated with related units to develop a detailed scenario and prepare the best conditions to welcome the delegations of athletes from 4 Oil and Gas Power Companies, 2 Hydropower Joint Stock Companies and 2 Technical Service Units nationwide under PV Power to participate in the sports festival. With the elaborate and careful preparation of the host unit and the spirit of responsibility and professionalism of the units, the sports festival took place successfully, becoming a festival to train the skills and expertise of all officers and employees of the Oil and Gas Power industry.

This year's Occupational Safety and Health - Fire Prevention and Fighting Sports Festival includes 3 competition events: 4x100m firefighting relay race, 100m obstacle race - rescue and first aid competition. With professional support from the Fire Prevention and Fighting & Rescue Department (Ha Tinh Provincial Police), the athletes had exciting and attractive competitions, ensuring safety; thereby, improving their situation handling skills, contributing to improving the ability to safely and stably operate power plants, especially in hot weather.

The 4x100m firefighting relay requires quick, precise movements.

Excellently demonstrating the knowledge and skills of occupational safety and hygiene - fire prevention and fighting, Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company won the first prize of the entire delegation in this year's sports festival, including an athlete who won the first prize in the fire prevention and fighting & rescue content.

Mr. Pham Huu Hien - Performance Management Engineer, Operation Workshop (Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company) shared: “In 11 years of working, I have participated in the Occupational Safety and Health - Fire Prevention and Fighting Sports Competition at the corporation and company levels more than 10 times. This year, with the 4x100m firefighting relay race, athletes are required to not only have a solid grasp of knowledge but also maintain a calm spirit to assess and handle situations with fast, correct and precise technical operations. With the harmonious support of teammates and efforts to compete for the common goal, I won the first prize individually in the Fire Prevention and Fighting & Rescue category. This year's sports competition helps me improve my situation handling skills, contributing to the safe and stable operation of generators at Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant”.

Power plants always pose a risk of occupational safety, so the first aid content was chosen by the organizers at the sports festival. Accordingly, athletes practiced first aid steps with situations related to the operation of power plants. This competition was supervised by the health sector, helping athletes improve their ability to handle situations, respond promptly, and ensure human safety in the event of an unfortunate incident. In this content, Nhon Trach 2 Petroleum Power Joint Stock Company (Dong Nai province) conquered the judges with timely and technically correct first aid movements, increasing the chance of survival and reducing permanent disability for the victim.

Power plants have mechanical and electrical equipment systems that operate in high temperature and high pressure environments, along with high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage electrical systems, so the risk of safety loss is high, especially in the hot season. Accordingly, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene and fire prevention is the top priority of factories.

Mr. Doan Van Truong - Deputy Director of Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company ( Nghe An ) said: Hua Na Hydropower Plant has a capacity of 180 MW with 2 units, contributing more than 700 million kWh to the national grid each year. To operate the plant safely and stably, every year, the unit plans to organize drills on the following plans: fire prevention and fighting and rescue, natural disaster prevention and search and rescue, oil spill response, chemical incident response... according to the approved plan. Participating in this PV Power sports festival is a drill, helping the plant's staff and engineers gain more knowledge and skills in handling situations, minimizing incidents during operation, ensuring safety for people and equipment.

Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company excellently won first prize for the whole team at the sports festival.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Dao - Deputy General Director of PV Power said: Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company has successfully organized the sports festival, creating opportunities for exchange and learning for units; creating a useful playground for athletes to demonstrate their bravery and skills in handling situations to ensure safety and prevent fires and explosions at the workplace. This activity also has practical significance, responding to the Month of Action on occupational safety and hygiene in 2025 with the theme: "Strengthening assessment, identification of risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene at the workplace".
