Final Exam Day of High School Graduation Exam 2025: Exam questions suitable for students' abilities

End of the morning exam session on June 27 of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training , this year, the whole country has 1,137,183 candidates registered to take the exam under the 2018 General Education Program and 24,951 candidates under the 2006 Program.

Accordingly, candidates taking the exam under the 2018 General Education Program will take the optional exam. The two optional subjects are from the subjects that students study in high school, including: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages.

For Foreign Languages, students will take one of the following languages: English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese or Korean.

According to the 2006 GeneralEducation Program, with the Natural Science group, students will take 3 exams: Physics, Chemistry, Biology. If choosing the Social Science group, candidates will take the Geography, History, and Civic Education exams. At the same time, they will take the Foreign Language exam in the afternoon of the same day.

At the Trung Vuong Secondary School exam site, at 9am, many parents were present to welcome their students. The school gate opened, and with the joyful welcome of volunteers, the students walked out with bright faces, full of hope for the elective exam.

For the elective subjects of the 2018 General Education Program, candidates have 50 minutes to complete the test. The general assessment is that this morning's test is not too difficult, suitable for average-good and good students; at the same time, there are still questions at a high application level to classify candidates.

“I chose Physics as my elective subject. The test was quite long. I did 80%, and there were some difficult questions in the True-False section that I had to leave out. The test was within my ability,” said Duc Huy, a student at Tran Phu High School.

Minh Ha, a student at Viet Duc High School, chose Chemistry as her elective subject because her university entrance exam combination included three subjects: Math, Physics, and Chemistry.

“I hope that the Chemistry exam score will help “fix” the Literature exam, but in reality, the exam is within my ability but not easy. There are questions that require practical knowledge and careful calculation for advanced questions, which account for about 2 points, depending on each student’s ability,” Minh Ha commented.

For the elective subjects of Foreign Language, the test time is 50 minutes. Minh Anh, from Viet Duc High School, chose to take the German test because this is the language studied at school by many Viet Duc students.

“I finished the German exam. Although I have studied this language for seven years, this year's exam had some difficult questions. With this test, I think I can get a maximum of 9 points, which is suitable for my ability,” Minh Anh said.

Those who took the English test also had the same opinion. Gia Nam, a student at Tran Phu High School, said that the English test had a relatively difficult reading comprehension section, requiring a rich vocabulary, accurate understanding of the reading passage, and careful thinking before choosing an answer.

Thus, candidates studying the 2018 General Education Program have completed the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. The content of the exams is assessed to be rich, integrating social issues and having a clear level of differentiation for students' abilities.
