"Tieu Nhan" is adapted from the comic of the same name by Hua Tien Triet, which is considered by readers to be "a must-read once in a lifetime". The film was started by director Yuen Woo-ping , the owner of a series of famous works such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "Kung Fu Hustle", "Kung Fu King"... "The Villain" tells the story of the third year of the Great Nghiep Dynasty (also known as 607 AD), the end of the Sui Dynasty, the beginning of the Tang Dynasty. The Sui Dynasty was under the brutal rule of Emperor Yang Guang of Sui, and the people were in misery. This was the most unstable period in Chinese history.

At this time, the traveler (a bounty hunter) Dao Ma with a complex and mysterious identity appeared, wandering in the Western Regions desert. Dao Ma was asked to escort someone to Chang'an city, that was Tri The Lang. It was not just a simple trip, the two encountered many difficulties and dangers along the way, having to find a way to live from death.
