Basketball star Thao My misses SEA Games 33

The Vietnam Basketball Federation (VBF) has just announced the list of players preparing for the 33rd SEA Games. This list still includes the brightest stars of national basketball. However, in the women's team, fans do not see Thao My's name.

This star has just transferred to Ulaanbaatar Amazons Club in Mongolia. Currently, Thao My is still playing an important role in the new team, helping Ulaanbaatar Amazons lead the Mongolian National Basketball Championship with 4 wins from the beginning of the campaign.

She has no injuries or other problems. It is possible that Thao My was not released by her club for the 33rd SEA Games because during the games, the ball was still rolling in the Mongolian domestic league (playoffs, in which the possibility of Ulaanbaatar Amazons participating in the championship stage is almost certain).

Thus, the last tournament of the year that Thao My will wear the Vietnamese team jersey is the 3x3 Asian Championship in Singapore in March. With the loss of this talented point guard, the Vietnamese basketball team will face countless difficulties, especially with the goal of defending the gold medal in the 3-a-side basketball event.

At the 32nd SEA Games, twin sisters Thao Vy-Thao My shone, leading the Vietnamese basketball team to a historic gold medal. The remaining member of the women's basketball team's championship squad, Tieu Duy, is still on the list to participate in this year's SEA Games.

With her older sister absent, a lot of pressure will be put on the younger sister Thao Vy. Currently, the 24-year-old defender is playing for PAOK in the Greek national championship. She is still one of the important choices of the team and when the 33rd SEA Games takes place, the ball will still roll in Greece. However, unlike Thao My, Thao Vy is still committed to the national team.
