To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Diplomatic Service (1945 - 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs (1975 - 2025), on the morning of August 23, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to organize the event "Friendship Walk".
Mr. Pham Dut Diem, Acting Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, delivered the opening speech of the walking program.
Attending the walk were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha, representatives of city departments and agencies, Consuls General, Honorary Consuls of diplomatic agencies of various countries, representatives of international organizations, business associations and a large number of people.

After the opening ceremony, leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ho Chi Minh City performed the flag-raising ceremony, officially starting the 2.5 km long walking journey through the central routes: Le Duan - Cong Xa Paris - Dong Khoi - Le Thanh Ton - Nguyen Hue and ending at Ben Bach Dang Park.
Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van led the walking group.
This community-oriented sport activity not only contributes to improving health but also spreads the spirit of solidarity, friendship and cooperation towards a peaceful , stable and prosperous world.

The destination of the journey is the International Friendship Monument located at Bach Dang Wharf Park. This is an artistic work that represents the spirit of solidarity and close cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and friends of other countries.

In his closing speech, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Xuan Thuy emphasized: "The symbol is not only a unique work of art but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of friendship, solidarity and long-term cooperation between the city and localities around the world. From here, we continue to carry the spirit of solidarity, faith and aspiration to reach out, to together create a peaceful, cooperative and prosperous future."
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, he expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, city leaders, representatives of diplomatic agencies, international organizations, departments, branches and people who accompanied the event.
