Spacious, modern, fast... are the majority of comments people say about Metro Line 1, which will officially go into operation on December 22.
From December 13 to December 21, Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) will conduct its final test run before officially operating on December 22, 2024.
According to Dan Viet reporter, on December 12, a large number of people gathered in front of Ben Thanh station, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, waiting to experience Metro Line 1. Ben Thanh station is one of the three underground stations of Metro Line 1, along with Ba Son station and City Theater station.
During the experience of riding Metro 1, most people were excited and delighted about the city's first urban railway line.
Metro Line 1 impresses city residents with its convenience and modernity.
Having taken the Metro in Thailand and Singapore, Quynh Van (living in District 3) said that the urban railway in Ho Chi Minh City is not inferior to that of other countries. "With its newness and convenience, I believe that Metro 1 will be the transportation choice of many people in the city," Quynh Van shared.
Many people think that traveling by Metro saves time, avoids traffic jams, creates a comfortable feeling for passengers, and the space inside the train is clean and airy.
“I eagerly waited all night until this morning to take the Metro train. After a long period of construction, the Metro is finally operational. We are very happy,” said Ms. Huong (residing in Tan Binh district).
People quickly captured the city's icon from inside Metro 1 train.
Urban Railway One Member Limited Liability Company No. 1 (HURC1) said that this is the final trial run to comprehensively check the technical system, trains, and operating components before official operation.
According to the plan, there will be 9 trains operating from 5:00 (first departure) to 22:00 (last departure). There will be 200 trains running every day with an interval of 8 minutes between peak hours and 12 minutes between off-peak hours.
Previously, on December 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board (investor) signed and awarded the conditional handover certificate (TOC) to the joint venture of NJPT General Consultant and Hitachi contractor for package CP3 (purchase of electromechanical equipment, locomotives, railways).
