Assistant Andreas Georgson leaves MU. |
Georgson, 43, was previously the set-piece coach for the Red Devils under Erik ten Hag, but the role was handed over to assistant Carlos Fernandes following the arrival of Ruben Amorim in November 2024.
On the MU homepage, Georgson shared: "Working at MU has been a great experience, I will always be proud to be associated with such a great club. My time here has ended and I will look for a new challenge elsewhere."
Before joining United, Georgson had many years of coaching experience in England at clubs such as Arsenal, Brentford and Southampton. He left his position as head coach of Norwegian club Lillestrom to join Ten Hag's coaching staff at Old Trafford last year.
Georgson's departure marks one of several changes expected to take place at Old Trafford, as the club look to bounce back from a forgettable season.
The 2024/25 season is considered a nightmare for the "Red Devils" when they only ranked 15th in the Premier League and lost in the Europa League final to Tottenham, thereby losing the opportunity to participate in the Champions League next season.
MU has now completed its Asian tour, which ended in a 0-1 defeat to the ASEAN All-Stars and a 3-1 win over Hong Kong. MU will take a summer break before regrouping in mid-July, preparing for a friendly against Leeds on July 19.
