AI Studio is built on the Llama 3.1 model, the largest open-source AI model released by Meta last week. According to Reuters, Llama 3.1 has performance that competes with OpenAI's paid models.
This tool offers users endless creative possibilities. They can use various commands to create AI chatbots for purposes such as teaching cooking, writing Instagram content, creating funny memes for friends, and more.
"You can install this AI for yourself, or share it with your followers, or even use it to chat with anyone on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and the web," Meta describes on his blog.
Meta's AI chatbot interface is customizable for users.
To begin creating a chatbot, users can visit ai.meta.com/ai-studio or open a new message on Instagram, then tap "create AI conversation". From there, they can customize the AI character's name, personality, voice, avatar, and motto.
Content creators and business owners on Meta's platforms can use AI to chat with followers, automatically answer questions, and even comment directly on posts.
The Verge considers this a major turning point for Meta users. However, the company is taking a safe approach, starting with celebrities, then gradually testing it in a few markets before expanding globally.
"Meta is more or less aware that this is a risky playing field. They have carefully labeled AI-generated content. In their user guide, the company also notes that the responsibility for creating AI chatbots rests with the user," the tech website noted.
