Born in 1975 in Thai Binh, since starting her career in 1996, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa has taught in many different environments in the old Yen Bai province - now Lao Cai such as: Tran Yen 2 Inter-level Secondary School, Yen Bai Pedagogical College... In 2008, Ms. Hoa returned to Yen Bai Province Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities (now Lao Cai) and has been with students in the highlands ever since.
Ms. Hoa shared that the greatest joy is seeing her students grow up, many of them passing the entrance exams to vocational schools, returning to work in their localities, becoming colleagues in the History department, or rising out of poverty thanks to knowledge from school.
“Looking through each school year, witnessing students grow up - especially those who return to their hometowns to work and assert themselves - that is what moves me. That growth is the motivation for me to strive every day, determined to strive to have generations of students with a good future, a stable life and help their families escape poverty. That is the motivation for me to love my job and dedicate myself to and stick with the teaching profession,” said teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa.

Teacher Hoa's joy is to accompany ethnic minority students, witnessing them learn and grow up.
From her attachment to her students and love for her job, Ms. Hoa always strives to self-study, research and create new teaching methods. Many of her initiatives have been accepted and widely applied, helping students to absorb and remember more easily, typically: some experiences in organizing teaching to enhance interest in learning History in high school; educating national identity through History lessons in ethnic boarding schools; using knowledge boards in innovating teaching methods for high school History; people's character in resistance wars...; some measures to improve the quality of high school graduation exam review for World History...
Thanks to that, History lessons are more lively, students develop comprehensively, History becomes a strong subject in the school's excellent student competitions, with 96 students winning provincial and national prizes in history.
“History plays an important role in political , ideological, moral and lifestyle education. Therefore, choosing appropriate content and methods is always a priority. I often apply the flipped lesson: assigning students to research first, then present, while the teacher organizes discussions, evaluates and guides. This method helps students to be proactive and absorb lessons deeply and effectively,” Ms. Hoa shared.

Not only dedicated, Ms. Hoa is also a pioneer in innovating teaching methods, testing and assessment in the direction of capacity development. She has participated in provincial and ministerial training courses and then become a core teacher spreading inspiration and new methods in many schools. Ms. Hoa also effectively implemented experiential lessons, applied information technology, encouraged group discussions, did projects, and collected local historical documents. At the same time, she participated in compiling a set of local educational documents for the old Yen Bai province from grades 6-12, an important source of documents to inspire students' love for their homeland.

Student Hoang Thi To Uyen - class 12A1 shared that thanks to Ms. Hoa always bringing positive energy, even though she is a student of natural science, she is still interested and does well in history.
Ms. Hoa’s perseverance and inspirational methods have helped many generations of students in the highlands gain confidence and achieve high results. Besides nurturing excellent students, she also supports students with poor academic performance and those in difficult circumstances; helping students in other grades learn History well.
Hoang Thi To Uyen - Nung ethnic, student of class 12A1 shared: “For me, Ms. Hoa is very special. She always brings positive energy. Before, as a student of natural science, I was not interested in History, but thanks to her, the subject became interesting. After three years of being guided by her, I love my country more and more and want to learn more about the history of the nation. I would like to send my most sincere thanks to her.”

Teacher Hoa's perseverance and inspirational methods have helped many generations of highland students gain confidence and achieve high results.
As the former Head of the Group and President of the School Union, Ms. Hoa has always been exemplary, responsible, and a center of solidarity, leading the professional group to innovate and supporting new teachers. Ms. Ly Thi Dien, a colleague in the same group, shared: “As the head of the group, Ms. Hoa always cares for and encourages the brothers and sisters in the professional group. As the President of the Union, she understands and supports her colleagues. We always wish her good health, maintain her enthusiasm and maintain a close and friendly relationship with everyone like now.”
It is her love for her job and her students that has helped teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa maintain her enthusiasm for nearly three decades, becoming an outstanding teacher of the province. She has been an emulation fighter at the grassroots and provincial levels for 16 years, and has received 16 Certificates of Merit at the provincial, ministerial and Prime Minister levels. In 2023, Ms. Hoa was awarded the title of Excellent Teacher by the President, and was one of 19 outstanding examples of Lao Cai attending the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.
Ms. Hoa shared that the rewards from all levels and sectors are a respectful recognition, but the greatest joy for teachers is still being able to accompany ethnic minority students, witnessing them learn and grow.
