A fishing boat carrying 11 people sank off the southern coast of South Korea, leaving three dead, one missing and seven rescued, including one Vietnamese.
The South Korean Coast Guard said on March 14 that a fishing boat carrying 11 people, including four Koreans, six Indonesians and one Vietnamese citizen, sank in waters 4.6 nautical miles south of Yokji Island. The 139-ton ship ran into trouble after sending a distress signal at around 4:12 a.m.
Coast Guard personnel found three South Koreans unconscious, including the captain. They were taken to hospital but died.
Seven foreign crew members, including Vietnamese citizens, were injured but their lives were not in danger. One South Korean crew member is still missing.

The fishing boat was returning from a shift when it met with an accident. The ship had left Dongho Port on the southern coast of Tongyeong at 5:10 p.m. on March 13.
The coast guard is mobilizing resources to search for the missing South Korean sailors, including 16 coast guard vessels, two navy ships, two ships from other agencies and three aircraft.
According to officials, the ship has completely sunk. The area where the ship crashed is estimated to be 60 meters deep.
