Liverpool are ready to make a "blockbuster" move for Isak this summer. |
The BBC reports that the Isak deal could be worth up to £130m, taking Liverpool's total spending this summer to £300m. This is a huge jump from last season, when "The Kop" spent only £10m on Federico Chiesa and £25m on goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Liverpool have now completed the signing of midfielder Florian Wirtz for £116m, in addition to paying £40m for Milos Kerkez and £30m for Jeremie Frimpong. The Merseyside club are focused on adding a quality striker, with Isak and Hugo Ekitike (Frankfurt) being potential targets.
The BBC analyzed that Liverpool owns a huge source of money thanks to good results in the 2024/25 season. The Anfield team received 175 million pounds in bonuses for winning the Premier League. Last season was also the first season that Anfield stadium expanded its capacity, helping to significantly increase revenue each time a match took place.
In addition, the new sponsorship deal with adidas will help Liverpool pocket 60 million pounds per season. This is higher than the current deal with Nike.

These factors, combined with a cautious spending spree in previous windows, have kept Liverpool within the safe zone and free from Premier League Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) concerns. The BBC reports that the club could face a maximum loss of £105m over three years.
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire said: "Liverpool are a very smart club. They are in a good position in the PSR. Of the big clubs, they have spent the least in the last three years, just £325m, including the Florian Wirtz deal."
Liverpool could also raise funds this summer by selling stars. The Reds have rejected a £58.6m bid from Bayern Munich for striker Luis Diaz. Another striker who could leave Anfield for a big sum is Darwin Nunez, who is attracting interest from Napoli and clubs in Saudi Arabia.
