The water supply and electrical repair workers of the team are putting aside their disappointments from the qualifying rounds and are looking forward to the finals taking place from October 31st to November 2nd in Ho Chi Minh City with the highest determination.
Focus all efforts on the finals.
In the Southern qualifying round, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by the Da Nang Trade Union, conceding a single goal from an own goal in the last two minutes of the match. Recalling that moment, Mr. Huynh Lam - the team leader of the An Giang Trade Union - is still upset: "In football, no matter how well-planned the tactics are, it's difficult to predict accidents like that. We are all very sad and regretful."
Forward and water supply worker Nguyen Huu Phuoc shared: "Although we were very disappointed, we immediately encouraged each other and boosted our spirits to aim for a more ambitious goal."
And securing a ticket to the national finals helped the entire team relieve psychological pressure. To prepare for the "big stage" at the finals, the team added 3-4 new players in both forward and defensive positions to increase squad depth. The special characteristic of the An Giang Trade Union team lies in its cohesion.
Full-back Le Ngoc Luan, an electrician, proudly said: "Whether we're old or new employees, we're all brothers under one roof at An Giang Water and Electricity Joint Stock Company. Therefore, solidarity and mutual understanding are things we always have."

A special "work assignment" for the electrical and plumbing workers.
Due to the nature of their work, which involves being scattered across many different locations, concentrating training sessions is a challenge for the team. While waiting for the team to regroup, the coaching staff has instructed the players to maintain their fitness at home or participate in local amateur matches.
On October 25th, the entire team will gather at the Long Xuyen training center (An Giang). Mr. Huynh Lam stated that this will be the most intensive training camp yet. For five days (from October 25th to 30th), the players will "camp out," living and eating together as arranged by the Trade Union, so that the coaching staff can refine their tactics. "We plan to alternate internal training sessions with about 2-3 friendly matches with local units to help the players regain their best form," Mr. Lam shared.
A major advantage for the An Giang Trade Union is that the company's leadership and the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor have created the best possible conditions, from arranging accommodation to providing leave. "The whole team will have time off from October 25th to November 4th, and then we'll return to work. This attention helps us feel completely at ease and focus on our work," said defender Ngoc Luan.
On the morning of October 30th, the team will travel to Ho Chi Minh City to familiarize themselves with the venue. Bringing to the finals the spirit of the honest yet resilient workers of the Mekong Delta, the An Giang Trade Union does not hide its ambition. "Our goal is to advance from the group stage to the knockout rounds. We will bring to the finals the utmost confidence and effort, while always maintaining a spirit of fair play and learning from other teams," Mr. Huynh Lam affirmed.
With this thorough preparation, the An Giang water and electricity workers promise to be an interesting dark horse, ready to create surprises at the tournament.
The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is jointly organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper , the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Vietnam Football Federation. This is the third consecutive year the tournament has been held.
