On June 11, at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, two members of the Lac Viet music group - The Hung and Nguyen Truc - officially concluded their professional university studies in Vocal Music with an impressive graduation exam. This is not only a proud personal milestone, but also an important milestone affirming the serious and persistent artistic path that Lac Viet has oriented. Watching his juniors take the exam, singer Trung Kiet - the group leader - who has completed his Master's degree in vocal music - said: "I am very happy that the two members of the group have completed their exam well. Seeing them worried and sleepless, I see myself again. This effort is the direction of Lac Viet to improve the professional status of each member. I also hope that the two will continue to study for a Master's degree in vocal music in the future."
In a music market that increasingly emphasizes speed, social media effects and commercial factors, Lac Viet – with all 4 members being well-trained – is steadfastly pursuing a different direction: music with depth, roots and supported by a knowledge foundation.
Singer The Hung
The Hung and Nguyen Truc are not unfamiliar faces to Vietnamese music lovers. They have made their mark through products imbued with contemporary folk music – a genre of music that requires not only performance skills but also knowledge of structure, harmony, rhythm and cultural context.
Their success in the graduation exam is the result of a process of diligent study, training not only their singing voice but also their musical thinking, ability to analyze works and the ability to perform on large music stages. Aiming for the pinnacle of classical and contemporary musical works.

Born in the strong movement of Vietnamese music, Lac Viet group did not choose the short or easy path. They move slowly but surely, with projects that are seriously invested in both art and ideas. The group's music products are imbued with Vietnamese identity but not lacking in contemporary character, a fusion between tradition and modernity, between emotion and technique, between academia and the masses.

The fact that all four members are Conservatory students or have received professional music training is not only a source of personal pride, but also an affirmation of the path the group is persistently pursuing: artists must have knowledge, art needs a foundation. In each song of the Lac Viet group, listeners can clearly feel the meticulousness in structure, harmony - arrangement, creativity in mixing traditional and contemporary materials, as well as cultural depth filtered through the lens of young people with a solid professional foundation.
In an era where "trendy" melodies can quickly rise and then fade away, the presence of bands like Lac Viet is a reminder of the lasting value of sincere, profound music. This is also the vote of Mai Vang Award readers when nominating singing groups and singers in the music category, to give votes to deserving singers.
