On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the morning of April 28, journalist Alang Nguoc (reporter for Quang Nam Newspaper) released the MV Ama's Souvenir on his YouTube channel.
The song " Ama's keepsake" is the latest composition by musician Danh Zoram, real name Zoram Huu Danh, a Co Tu man from Tay Giang (Quang Nam), currently living and working in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the Co Tu language, "ama" means father. Throughout the song, journalist Alang Nguoc tells the story of the mementos his father left behind after the war. These are medals, an antler, a black and white photo, a worn backpack... that his mother has cherished like treasures for the past half century.

In the MV, which is over 4 minutes long, he and his mother in his hometown of Dong Giang (Quang Nam) respectfully offer incense to the altar of his deceased ama. The image of his son in traditional Co Tu costume, fondling each medal left by his grandfather, moves viewers.
The son's intimate storytelling truly touched the listener's heart through the chorus: Ama's keepsake/Is a black and white portrait of a comrade/In a worn-out backpack/My mother still cherishes it every day/Ama! Ama... oh oh...

The conclusion is a reminder for children and the young generation today to live in a peaceful atmosphere ( the country no longer has the sound of bombs and bullets) because of the sacrifices of the previous generations, including the father of journalist Alang Nguoc ( the blood of the ancestors mixed with the soil).
Musician Danh Zoram shared that the song Ama's keepsakes was inspired by the true story of journalist Alang Nguoc. For more than half a century, the memorabilia Ama brought back from the battlefield has always been cherished and kept by journalist Alang Nguoc, considering them family treasures.

"Emotional connections touch each other's hearts. A few days later, journalist Alang Nguoc completed the recording and sent it to me for me to mix. Listening to the song over and over again, I was moved to tears," musician Danh Zoram confided.
Working on a music project for the first time, journalist Alang Nguoc said it was the historical story that drew him into the job, which is not a journalist’s forte. Moreover, in this project, he took on the role of singer, character in the scenes, and participated in the MV script.
Journalist Alang Nguoc said he made the most of his family's living space to film the scenes; the entire crew, actors, costumes, and film set were all supported by relatives and the Co Tu community to create a simple, intimate space.

"After more than 50 years of storage, each keepsake is a beautiful story, reminding children and grandchildren of pride and gratitude to previous generations. That is even more meaningful and valuable when the whole country is looking forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification," journalist Alang Nguoc confided.
Through this MV, the two Co Tu boys - Alang Nguoc and Danh Zoram - want to send a message: every young person, no matter where they are, always remembers the heroic history of their ancestors. From there, nurture national pride and cherish every moment of peace today.
Journalist Alang Nguoc is currently a reporter for Quang Nam Newspaper, the Head of the Association of Culture and Arts of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas (under the Quang Nam Province Association of Culture and Arts), and has participated in many cultural and artistic activities in the locality. Before releasing the MV "Ama's Souvenirs" , in 2008 he won second prize at the Quang Nam Province Student Singing Festival; in 2016 he won first prize at the Central Highlands - Central Region Journalists' Singing Festival and an encouragement prize at the 5th National Vietnam Journalists' Singing Festival...
