On May 13, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province held a meeting of the Steering Committee for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam to evaluate, review and prepare for the exam scheduled to take place at the end of June. One of the highlights is that the number of candidates registering for the exam this year has skyrocketed, reaching 11,237 candidates - an increase of more than 1,000 students compared to last year (in 2024, there were 10,182 candidates registered for the exam).

According to Mr. Ta Thanh Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau, the whole province has 470 examination rooms, organized at 17 official examination sites and 2 backup examination sites. Of which, the examination site at Ho Thi Ky High School (Ca Mau City) has the largest number of candidates with 912 candidates, followed by Cai Nuoc High School (Cai Nuoc District) with 900 candidates. The fewest candidates are at Nguyen Viet Khai High School with 284 candidates taking the exam according to the old General Education Program (2006).
This year’s exam is being held in the context of many innovations in the program and assessment methods, requiring careful preparation from the organizing agencies. It is expected that nearly 1,800 people will participate in serving the exam, of which more than 1,600 will be mobilized from the education sector, 100 police officers and soldiers, and 36 medical staff.
One notable point is that Ca Mau province will organize a mock exam on May 16, 17 and 18, fully simulating the official exam process from creating questions, invigilation to grading. According to Mr. Vu, this is a "comprehensive practice" not only for students but also for the organization of the exam at each testing site. "The mock exam will be organized like a real exam, so that when the real exam comes, there will be no room for confusion," Mr. Vu said.
Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, emphasized the spirit of "being careful but not cumbersome, being decisive but not pressuring"; at the same time, he requested units not to be subjective in the face of changes in the exam, to develop specific organization plans, to ensure absolute safety, fairness, especially the security of exam papers and anti-cheating with high-tech devices.
"Leave easy things to students and parents. As for difficult things, the exam officials must take responsibility and not shift responsibility. Where mistakes are made, that is the responsibility," Mr. Luan clearly stated.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province also requested localities to proactively review and make a list of students with difficult circumstances to have timely support measures. No student should be prevented from taking the exam due to difficulties.
