Pig price in the Southern region exceeds peak, highest in the country

Pig prices in the Southern region continued to witness the strongest increase since the beginning of May, with at least 7 provinces and cities seeing prices increase by 1,000 VND/kg on the morning of May 14.

Notably, the three provinces of Long An, Tien Giang and Ben Tre are currently leading the country with the highest price, reaching 75,000 VND/kg, setting a new record for the live pig market in 2025. In Dong Nai - a major livestock center in the South, pig prices have increased to 74,000 VND/kg.

Many other localities in the region such as Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Soc Trang maintained a stable price of 74,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc and Hau Giang still maintained the threshold of 73,000 VND/kg.
