Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai attended a conference to promote the consumption of lychee and other key agricultural products in Bac Giang.

BAC GIANG - On the morning of May 28, at the Provincial Convention Center, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province held a conference to promote the consumption of lychee and key agricultural products, specialties, and OCOP products of Bac Giang province in 2025 in direct and online forms.

Attending the conference, on the Central side, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; representatives of specialized units of the National Assembly Office, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; representatives of the Consulate General, Vietnam Trade Office Branch in Nanning, Kunming, China.

Delegates from provinces and cities included Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province; representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion of the provinces and cities: Hanoi, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Bac Ninh.

Delegates from China included Mr. Li Thac, Deputy Director of the Guangxi Department of Commerce, along with representatives of functional agencies of Pingxiang City, Guangxi Province, Hekou District, Yunnan Province, China; delegates representing fruit import-export associations, enterprises, and lychee and agricultural product importers of Guangxi Province, Yunnan Province, Zhejiang Province, and Chongqing City, China.

On the side of Bac Giang province, there were comrades: Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lam Thi Huong Thanh, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Van Thinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, businesses consuming and producing lychee in and outside the province.

This year, Bac Giang province continues to maintain and expand the concentrated lychee growing area with 29,700 hectares, with an estimated output of about 170,000 tons (early-ripening lychee about 60,000 tons; main-season lychee 110,000 tons). Early-ripening lychee harvest time is from May 28; main-season lychee harvest is from June 10 to July 30.

In addition to lychee, Bac Giang has 56 key, typical and potential products; 334 OCOP products with 3 stars or more. Bac Giang directs strict management of planting and breeding areas according to planning and promotes the application of advanced production techniques to increase output and product quality; consumed nationwide and exported.
